Why Agile Delivery Skills Are in Demand in Uganda

    Governance-Free Agile Delivery

Many Ugandan teams adopt Scrum for speed but lack a project governance layer, causing weak control on regulated banking and government work that AgilePM is built to fix.

    AgilePM adds governed agile delivery

    E-Government Delivery Pressure

NITA-U's five-year plan and UDAP-GovNet are scaling public digital services fast, demanding disciplined, on-time delivery that a structured agile framework supports.

    AgilePM builds on-time delivery skills

    Scarce Certified Agile Leaders

Uganda's talent pool is deep in developers but thin in credentialed agile project managers, making certified AgilePM practitioners rare and valued by employers.

    AgilePM makes you stand out

    Fintech and Mobile Money Speed

Rapid growth in digital financial services pushes banks and telecoms to deliver iteratively while meeting compliance, the balance AgilePM governance is designed for.

    AgilePM balances speed and control

    Donor Project Accountability

NGO and development programmes must show auditable delivery against clear benefits, a fit for AgilePM's business-case focus and benefits-driven lifecycle.

    AgilePM links delivery to benefits

    Scope and Deadline Overruns

Projects across sectors slip on scope and time. MoSCoW prioritisation and fixed timeboxes give teams a proven way to protect deadlines and business value.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

AgilePM (Agile Project Management) is a structured agile project management framework based on DSDM and owned by the Agile Business Consortium. The combined certification covers the Foundation level, which builds knowledge, and the Practitioner level, which applies and tailors the framework, giving you a governed approach to agile delivery.

    General

What is the AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner certification?

AgilePM (Agile Project Management) is a structured agile project management framework based on DSDM and owned by the Agile Business Consortium. The combined certification covers the Foundation level, which builds knowledge, and the Practitioner level, which applies and tailors the framework, giving you a governed approach to agile delivery.

Who should take AgilePM training in Uganda?

AgilePM suits project managers, business analysts, team leaders and delivery leads, as well as PRINCE2 or Scrum professionals adding an agile project management credential. In Uganda it is valued across IT, banking, telecom and government delivery.

Is AgilePM recognised in Uganda and internationally?

Yes. AgilePM is recognised in over 150 countries and is valued by employers who need agile delivery with structured governance. In Uganda, banks, telecoms, BPO firms and government digital programmes increasingly seek certified agile professionals.

    Is AgilePM certification worth it?

Yes. AgilePM gives you a recognised credential and a practical framework you can apply immediately, which supports stronger roles and pay in Uganda's growing digital delivery market. Roles range from Scrum Master and Agile Project Manager to PMO leadership.

    Who governs the AgilePM framework?

The AgilePM framework is owned and published by the Agile Business Consortium, formerly the DSDM Consortium. It is based on DSDM, the original agile framework created in 1994, and is documented in the current AgilePM Handbook.

    Pricing

What is included in the AgilePM course fee?

The training fee typically includes AgilePM-aligned courseware, case studies, mock exams, practice questions and dual-exam preparation, plus learner support and a completion certificate. Request a quote to see the current inclusions for your chosen format.

How much does AgilePM training cost in Uganda?

AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner training is priced by format and delivery mode, and is available on request. Live online and corporate options differ, so speak with a learning advisor for a current quote for Uganda.

Are the exam fees included in the training price?

Exam fee inclusion varies by package, so confirm it at the time of enrolment. AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner are two separate exams, and your advisor can confirm whether the exam vouchers are bundled with your chosen format.

Do you offer corporate or group pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for PMOs and delivery teams across Uganda. Ask about corporate pricing for a tailored quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Talk to a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the AgilePM Foundation exam?

The AgilePM Foundation exam has 50 multiple-choice questions, is closed book and lasts 40 minutes. The pass mark is 50%, which is 25 out of 50 correct. It tests the framework at knowledge and comprehension level.

What is the format of the AgilePM Practitioner exam?

The AgilePM Practitioner exam is open book, with the AgilePM Handbook permitted. It has 4 scenario-based questions worth 15 marks each, 60 marks in total, and lasts 2 hours. The pass mark is 50%, which is 30 out of 60 marks.

How many exams are in the combined programme?

There are two separate exams: Foundation and Practitioner. You must pass both to hold both credentials. Foundation is closed book with 50 questions, while Practitioner is open book with 4 scenario-based questions.

What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

The AgilePM Handbook is permitted during the Practitioner exam, but the scenario questions require analysis and judgement, so you cannot simply look up answers. Efficient handbook navigation and deep method knowledge are both essential.

Where do I sit the AgilePM exams and can I resit?

The exams are delivered by online proctoring or at an authorised test centre, usually at the end of each stage of training. You can resit an exam if needed; resit policies and any fees depend on your package, so confirm with your advisor.

    Course Content

What topics does the AgilePM training cover?

The training covers the full framework: the eight principles, the six-phase lifecycle and products, the roles, MoSCoW prioritisation, timeboxing and quality, and planning, control and risk. Foundation builds knowledge and Practitioner applies it to scenarios.

How long is the AgilePM training?

The combined AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner programme is delivered over 40 hours, typically as a five-day intensive or across extended part-time sessions. Foundation content comes first, followed by Practitioner content and its exam.

What standard is the courseware based on?

The courseware follows the current AgilePM Handbook, published by the Agile Business Consortium, and the current AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner exam syllabi. AgilePM is based on the DSDM framework.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes mock exams, practice questions and case studies mapped to both the Foundation and Practitioner syllabi, helping you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

Do I need agile experience to take this course?

No prior agile experience is required for Foundation, which is open to all. The training builds from the fundamentals to applied Practitioner-level technique, so beginners and experienced project professionals can both follow it.
