Why Thai Manufacturers Need Customer-Driven Design

    Voice-Of-Customer Gaps in Design

Many Thai manufacturers still design to internal assumptions rather than documented customer needs, causing launch failures that a well-built House of Quality is designed to prevent.

QFD structures the Voice of the Customer

Moving up the Automotive Value Chain

As Thailand shifts from assembly to EV and design-led production, suppliers must translate OEM and customer requirements into engineering specifications through structured QFD.

    QFD supports APQP and NPD

    Electronics Supply-Chain Relocation

With global electronics firms expanding across the EEC, teams must build customer requirements into new products fast, making House of Quality skills a practical advantage.

    QFD speeds customer-driven design

    Rising Food and Consumer Standards

Thailand's food and consumer exporters face rising customer and regulatory expectations, and QFD gives teams a structured way to build quality and safety in from the first concept.

QFD designs quality in from the start

    Costly Late-Stage Design Changes

Weak links between customer needs and engineering targets drive expensive rework and warranty costs that a properly interpreted House of Quality helps eliminate early.

QFD reduces rework and warranty cost

    Shortage of Customer-To-Design Talent

Thailand has a deep pool of process engineers but few professionals trained to systematically translate customer requirements into design, a gap that QFD skills fill.

Pricing varies by delivery format (live online, classroom or corporate), group size and schedule, so a fee is available on request. Contact us with your preferred format and dates and a learning advisor will share a tailored quote.

What is included in the QFD course fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led training across all six QFD modules, hands-on House of Quality exercises, course materials and templates, learner support, and a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. There is no separate exam fee, as this is a practical skills course.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for product development, quality and R&D teams. It is especially effective when your team builds a House of Quality for one of your own products. Ask about corporate pricing for your team.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

Are there any costs beyond the training fee?

No hidden costs apply. Because QFD is a non-certification skills course, there is no external body fee and no examination fee to pay. Your quoted training fee covers the full one-day programme, materials and course completion certificate.

    Assessment

How is learning assessed on the QFD course?

Learning is reinforced through practical work rather than a formal test. You take part in Voice of the Customer structuring, Kano classification and full House of Quality construction exercises during the programme, so you build and interpret real QFD matrices as you learn.

Do I receive a certificate after completing QFD training?

Yes. On completing the one-day programme you receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. It records your participation in the training and the practical QFD skills you have built.

Is Quality Function Deployment a certification?

No. QFD is a practical, non-certification skills course with no external awarding body and no examination. The focus is on learning and applying the House of Quality and the wider QFD methodology, and you leave with a course completion certificate rather than a formal credential.

What will I be able to do after the training?

You will be able to capture and structure the Voice of the Customer, build a complete House of Quality, calculate technical importance, resolve design conflicts with the correlation roof, and cascade QFD through parts, process and production planning, including within Design for Six Sigma and DMAIC projects.

    Is any prerequisite knowledge required?

None. The course is open to all and builds every QFD concept from first principles. Some background in product development, quality management or Six Sigma is useful context, but it is not needed to follow the training or complete the exercises.

    Course Content

What topics does the QFD course cover?

The one-day course covers six modules: QFD principles and business case, Voice of the Customer capture and structuring, building the House of Quality, interpreting the House of Quality, cascading QFD through four phases, and applying QFD in DFSS, DMAIC and service design, with hands-on exercises throughout.

What is the House of Quality?

The House of Quality is the central QFD planning matrix. Its six rooms link customer requirements to measurable engineering characteristics, capture the strength of each relationship, benchmark against competitors, flag design conflicts in the correlation roof, and set engineering targets anchored to customer priorities.

How long is the QFD training?

The programme runs for one day (8 hours), covering all six modules with concept explanations, real-world case examples and hands-on House of Quality construction exercises. An extended half-day format across two days is also available for teams that prefer shorter sessions.

Are there hands-on exercises in the course?

Yes. Practical work runs throughout the day. You structure the Voice of the Customer with an affinity diagram, classify requirements using the Kano model, build a full House of Quality from a realistic scenario, calculate column importance, and identify design hot spots and conflicts.

Does the course cover the four phases of QFD?

Yes. Beyond the House of Quality (Phase 1, Product Planning), the course covers cascading QFD through Parts Deployment, Process Planning and Production Planning, so you can trace a customer requirement all the way to production controls with full documentation.
