What Is Six Sigma Awareness Training?UntitledYour First Step into Process Excellence

Six Sigma Awareness Training in Senegal is a one-day introductory course that gives employees, managers and leaders a clear understanding of the Six Sigma methodology, the DMAIC improvement roadmap and the quality vocabulary used on improvement projects. Six Sigma is a data-driven approach to reducing process variation and eliminating defects, aiming for fewer than 3.4 defects per million opportunities (DPMO). Developed at Motorola in the 1980s and made famous by GE, it is now applied across manufacturing, mining, oil and gas, banking and services. The course is built for people who work alongside Six Sigma practitioners but do not need to become Green Belts or Black Belts. In one day you learn what Six Sigma is, how the five DMAIC phases (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control) work, the roles from Champion to Yellow Belt, and how Lean Six Sigma combines waste reduction with variation control. As Senegal's energy, mining and processing sectors scale up, organisations across Dakar and beyond need teams that share one improvement language. There is no exam and no formal credential; learning is reinforced through discussion and real case examples, and you receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

Six Sigma Awareness Training is a one-day introductory course that explains the Six Sigma methodology, the DMAIC improvement roadmap, key quality concepts and the roles on a Six Sigma project. It is designed for employees, managers and leaders who want to understand and support improvement work without becoming Green Belts or Black Belts.

    General

What is Six Sigma Awareness Training?

Six Sigma Awareness Training is a one-day introductory course that explains the Six Sigma methodology, the DMAIC improvement roadmap, key quality concepts and the roles on a Six Sigma project. It is designed for employees, managers and leaders who want to understand and support improvement work without becoming Green Belts or Black Belts.

Is Six Sigma training worth it for professionals in Senegal?

Yes. As Senegal's oil and gas, mining, processing and services sectors scale up, employers value staff who understand process improvement. The course gives you a practical, transferable skill and a shared language that helps you contribute to improvement projects across almost any industry.

    Who should attend this course?

It suits employees, team members, supervisors, managers and senior leaders in any sector who want to understand Six Sigma. No prior quality or statistical knowledge is needed, which makes it ideal for a whole organisation preparing for or supporting a Six Sigma programme.

Do I need any prior experience or prerequisites?

No. There are no prerequisites. The course is built for a general audience with no assumed background in quality management or statistics, so anyone in your organisation can attend and follow along comfortably.

How is Six Sigma different from Lean Six Sigma?

Six Sigma focuses on reducing variation and eliminating defects, while Lean focuses on removing waste and improving flow. Lean Six Sigma combines both. The course introduces all three so you understand how they fit together in real improvement programmes.

    Pricing

How much does Six Sigma Awareness Training cost in Senegal?

Fees vary by delivery format, group size and whether you book as an individual or a corporate group, so pricing is available on request. Contact a learning advisor for a quote tailored to your needs in Senegal.

What is included in the course fee?

Your fee typically includes instructor-led training across all six modules, structured courseware, real-world case examples, interactive exercises, learner support and a course completion record from Invensis Learning. Request a quote to confirm what is included in your chosen format.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing?

Yes. Corporate and group pricing is available and popular for this course, as organisations often train large teams at once. Ask about group pricing for your team in Senegal for a tailored quote.

Are there any additional or hidden costs?

No. Because this is a non-certification course, there is no separate exam or credential fee. The training fee covers the programme itself. Speak to an advisor for a clear, all-in quote.

How do I pay for the training?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, and offer flexible options on selected plans. Talk to a learning advisor to choose the payment method that works best for you or your organisation.

    Certificate

Is there an exam for this course?

No. This is a non-certification course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through interactive discussion, case examples and team exercises during the one-day programme.

Do I receive a certificate after the training?

Yes. You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning once you complete the one-day programme. It confirms your attendance and awareness-level understanding; it is not a formal certification awarded by an external body.

Is this the same as a Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt?

No. This is an awareness-level introduction and does not qualify you to lead Six Sigma projects. If you want to become a practising Six Sigma professional, progress to Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt, Green Belt or Black Belt training.

    How is my learning assessed?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, interactive discussions and team exercises throughout the day let you apply Six Sigma concepts to your own work, so you leave able to use the ideas straight away.

What will I be able to do after completing the course?

You will be able to understand what Six Sigma is, use its vocabulary confidently, follow the five DMAIC phases, recognise the Six Sigma roles, and support improvement projects. It is also an ideal foundation for Yellow Belt or Green Belt learning.

    Course Content

What topics does the course cover?

The one-day programme covers six modules: Six Sigma history and philosophy, key concepts and terminology, the DMAIC methodology, Six Sigma roles, an awareness-level look at key tools, and Lean Six Sigma in practice.

What is DMAIC and will I learn it?

DMAIC stands for Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control, the five-phase Six Sigma roadmap for improving existing processes. The course walks you through what happens in each phase so you understand how improvement projects are run.

Will I learn about Six Sigma tools?

Yes, at awareness level. You are introduced to tools such as SIPOC, the Fishbone diagram, Pareto charts, control charts and process capability, so you understand what practitioners are doing and why during a project.

Do I need to know statistics for this course?

No. The course explains concepts such as variation, DPMO and CTQ in plain terms. You gain enough understanding to follow and support Six Sigma projects without needing a statistical background.

Is the course content relevant to my industry?

Yes. Six Sigma applies across manufacturing, mining, oil and gas, food processing, banking and services. The trainer uses real-world examples, and corporate sessions can draw on cases from your own sector in Senegal.
