What Is Quality Function Deployment Training in Slovenia?UntitledCustomer-Driven Design, Made Practical

Quality Function Deployment (QFD) is a structured, customer-driven method for translating the Voice of the Customer into specific engineering and design characteristics at every stage of product and service development. Quality Function Deployment training in Slovenia gives product designers, quality engineers, R&D professionals and Six Sigma practitioners a practical command of this method and the tools to build and read the House of Quality. Developed in Japan by Yoji Akao and first applied at the Kobe shipyard, QFD uses the House of Quality matrix to link customer requirements to measurable engineering characteristics, expose design trade-offs and set clear targets. You learn to capture and structure customer needs, weigh them with the Kano model, and cascade decisions through product planning, parts deployment, process planning and production planning. For Slovenia's automotive, pharmaceutical, home-appliance and manufacturing employers, that skill turns customer intent into design decisions the whole team can trust. Delivered live virtual, in classrooms or on-site for teams, the course is hands-on throughout, so you leave able to run a House of Quality workshop on your own product.

Why Slovenian Product Teams Are Turning to QFD

    Exporting to Demanding OEMs

Slovenian automotive suppliers ship to German and EU OEMs that demand customer-requirement traceability under APQP and IATF 16949, exactly what a House of Quality provides.

    QFD builds requirement-traceability skills

    The E-Mobility Design Shift

As firms such as Revoz and Mahle move to electric drives, teams must redesign products around new customer and regulatory needs, a customer-driven design challenge QFD is built for.

    QFD structures new product design

    Quality by Design in Pharma

Krka, Lek and other life-science exporters translate patient and clinical needs into critical quality attributes, and QFD gives that translation a structured, repeatable method.

    QFD supports Quality by Design

    Costly Late Design Changes

Rework and late engineering changes inflate development cost and delay launches. QFD catches design conflicts early through the correlation roof of the House of Quality.

    QFD reduces design iterations

The Voice of the Customer Gap

Product ideas often lose customer intent between marketing and engineering. QFD closes that gap by making requirements visible and traceable throughout the design process.

QFD captures the Voice of the Customer

    Scarce Design-Quality Talent

Slovenia has a deep engineering base but few professionals trained in structured customer-driven design, making QFD skills a clear differentiator for teams and careers.

    QFD sets your profile apart

Quality Function Deployment (QFD) training is a practical, non-certification course that teaches you to translate the Voice of the Customer into engineering and design specifications using the House of Quality. It covers capturing customer needs, building the matrix, prioritising design decisions and cascading QFD through to production.

The course suits product designers, design and quality engineers, product managers, marketing and R&D professionals, and Six Sigma practitioners. It is ideal for anyone in Slovenia's automotive, pharmaceutical, appliance or manufacturing sectors who turns customer requirements into product or service designs.

Yes. QFD gives you a structured, in-demand method to design products around real customer needs, reduce late changes and speed up development. In Slovenia's export-driven manufacturing and life-sciences economy, that customer-driven design skill is valued across engineering, R&D and quality roles.

No. There are no formal prerequisites. The course introduces QFD and the House of Quality from first principles, so beginners can follow it, while familiarity with product development or quality management is helpful but not required.

The House of Quality is the central QFD planning matrix. It links customer requirements to measurable engineering characteristics, assesses relationships, exposes design trade-offs in the correlation roof, benchmarks against competitors and sets engineering targets, all anchored to customer priorities.

    General

What is Quality Function Deployment training?

Quality Function Deployment (QFD) training is a practical, non-certification course that teaches you to translate the Voice of the Customer into engineering and design specifications using the House of Quality. It covers capturing customer needs, building the matrix, prioritising design decisions and cascading QFD through to production.

Who should attend QFD training in Slovenia?

The course suits product designers, design and quality engineers, product managers, marketing and R&D professionals, and Six Sigma practitioners. It is ideal for anyone in Slovenia's automotive, pharmaceutical, appliance or manufacturing sectors who turns customer requirements into product or service designs.

Is QFD training worth it for product and quality professionals?

Yes. QFD gives you a structured, in-demand method to design products around real customer needs, reduce late changes and speed up development. In Slovenia's export-driven manufacturing and life-sciences economy, that customer-driven design skill is valued across engineering, R&D and quality roles.

Do I need prior experience to learn QFD?

No. There are no formal prerequisites. The course introduces QFD and the House of Quality from first principles, so beginners can follow it, while familiarity with product development or quality management is helpful but not required.

What is the House of Quality?

The House of Quality is the central QFD planning matrix. It links customer requirements to measurable engineering characteristics, assesses relationships, exposes design trade-offs in the correlation roof, benchmarks against competitors and sets engineering targets, all anchored to customer priorities.

    Pricing

How much does QFD training in Slovenia cost?

The course fee depends on the delivery format (live virtual, classroom or on-site group training) and group size. Pricing is available on request. Contact a learning advisor for a tailored quote for individual or team training in Slovenia.

What is included in the QFD course fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led training across all QFD modules, hands-on House of Quality exercises, structured courseware and templates, and a course completion record. Ask us for the full inclusions on your chosen format.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for product development, quality and cross-functional teams. Request a quote for your team in Slovenia and we will tailor the programme to your products.

    Are there payment options available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, and can discuss options for group bookings. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the arrangement that suits you or your organisation.

Is the course available for both individuals and teams?

Yes. You can join a scheduled session as an individual or arrange a private group session for your team. Group delivery is popular in Slovenia because teams can build a House of Quality for their own product during the workshop.

    Assessment

Is there an exam for the QFD course?

No. This is a non-certification skills course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on House of Quality construction, case examples and team discussion during the programme.

Do I receive anything on completion?

Yes. You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. The course builds practical QFD and House of Quality skills you can apply immediately to product development, service design and improvement projects.

How is learning assessed during the course?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you learn by doing: structuring the Voice of the Customer, building a full House of Quality, calculating column importance and identifying design conflicts through guided exercises across the programme.

Will I be able to apply QFD at work afterwards?

Yes. By the end you can facilitate a Voice of the Customer session, build and interpret a House of Quality, set engineering targets and cascade QFD through parts, process and production planning on your own projects.

Does QFD training support DFSS and Six Sigma projects?

Yes. QFD is a core tool in Design for Six Sigma (DMADV Measure phase) and in the DMAIC Define phase. The course shows how to use the House of Quality to translate the Voice of the Customer into critical-to-quality requirements.

    Course Content

What topics does the QFD training cover?

The course covers QFD principles and origins, capturing and structuring the Voice of the Customer, building and interpreting the House of Quality, the four-phase QFD cascade, and applying QFD in DFSS, DMAIC and service design, all with hands-on exercises.

Will I learn to build the House of Quality?

Yes. Building the House of Quality is central to the course. You work through every room, from customer requirements and engineering characteristics to the relationship matrix, correlation roof, benchmarking and engineering targets.

Does the course cover the Voice of the Customer?

Yes. You learn VOC data collection methods, customer segmentation, the affinity diagram for organising needs, the Kano model for classifying requirements, and importance weighting so the right requirements drive your design.

    Is the training hands-on?

Yes. Hands-on House of Quality construction runs throughout the programme. You practise on realistic product and service scenarios, and in group sessions you can build a House of Quality for one of your own products.

Does QFD apply to services as well as products?

Yes. While QFD began in manufacturing, the course covers applications in services such as healthcare, financial services and IT, as well as software. The House of Quality applies wherever customer requirements must become design or delivery specifications.

How do I enrol in QFD training in Slovenia?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format and schedule, and you will receive access to session details, courseware and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor if you need help choosing.

What formats are available: online, classroom or on-site?

The course is available online (live virtual instructor-led), in classrooms, and as on-site corporate training for teams in Slovenia. Choose the format that best fits your schedule and learning preference.

How long is the QFD course?

The programme runs for one day (8 hours), covering QFD foundations, the Voice of the Customer, full House of Quality construction, the four-phase cascade and QFD in DFSS, DMAIC and services, with hands-on exercises throughout.
