What if I do not pass the PMI-CP exam first time?

You get up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Re-examination fees apply to later attempts. Our training includes mock exams and domain practice to help you prepare thoroughly before you sit the exam.

How many questions are on the PMI-CP exam and how long is it?

The PMI-CP exam has 120 questions and lasts 230 minutes (3 hours 50 minutes). It is closed book with multiple-choice questions in single-answer and multiple-answer formats.

What are the PMI-CP exam domains and their weights?

The exam covers four domains: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%), per the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline.

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement.

Where and how is the PMI-CP exam delivered?

The exam is delivered online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre. You schedule it through PMI's portal or Pearson VUE within your one-year eligibility window.

What are the prerequisites to sit the PMI-CP exam?

You must complete four mandatory self-paced PMI modules, then meet one experience set: a high school diploma plus 60 months, a bachelor's degree plus 36 months, or a GAC-accredited degree plus 24 months of construction project management experience, all with 35 contact hours of PM education.
