Who should take PMI-CP training in Al Khobar?

Is the PMP required before the PMI-CP?

No. The PMP is not a prerequisite for the PMI-CP. You can apply based on your construction project management experience and education. The two are complementary, however, with the PMP covering general project management and the PMI-CP validating construction-specific expertise.

How long is the PMI-CP certification valid?

The PMI-CP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year cycle, with a minimum of 8 PDUs in each area. The 56 PDUs earned from the four prerequisite modules can be applied toward renewal.

How many questions are on the PMI-CP exam and how long is it?

The PMI-CP exam has 120 questions and a duration of 230 minutes (3 hours 50 minutes). It is closed book with multiple-choice questions in single-answer and multiple-answer formats.

What are the PMI-CP exam domains and their weights?

The exam covers four domains from the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%). Contracts Management is the largest, reflecting the centrality of contracts in construction.

What are the prerequisites for the PMI-CP exam?

You must complete all four mandatory self-paced modules and meet one experience set: a secondary diploma with 60 months of construction PM experience, a bachelor's degree with 36 months, or a GAC-accredited degree with 24 months. All sets need 35 contact hours of project management education.

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed passing score. Results are determined through psychometric analysis and reported as pass or fail, with domain-level feedback such as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement. Focus on broad mastery across all four domains.

Where can I take the exam and what if I do not pass first time?

You can take the PMI-CP exam online via Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre. PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period, with re-examination fees for the second and third attempts.

The training covers the four ECO domains: Contracts Management, including contract types, administration, change orders, claims and disputes; Stakeholder Engagement; Strategy and Scope Management, including schedule, budget, risk and quality; and Project Governance, plus exam and application strategy.

What standard and edition is the training based on?

The training is aligned to the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline (ECO), grounded in the current edition of the PMBOK Guide and construction industry-specific standards and practice. This keeps your preparation matched to what the PMI-CP exam actually tests.

Are practice tests, mock exams and assignments included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams and topic-wise quizzes mapped to the four ECO domains, so you can identify weak areas and build readiness for the 120-question, closed-book exam.

Do I need construction experience to take the training?

You can enrol in the training at any experience level. To sit the PMI-CP exam, however, PMI requires construction project management experience and completion of the four mandatory modules. Our trainers guide you on meeting the eligibility requirements.

Will I receive a certificate of completion after the training?

Yes. After meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate along with the contact hours earned, which count toward the 35 contact hours of project management education the PMI-CP requires.
