Construction Market Forces Behind PMI-CP Demand in Romania

    Infrastructure Pipeline at Scale

    Contract and Claims Complexity

Variations, disputes and claims are rising on large Romanian projects, and the 50% contracts focus of PMI-CP builds exactly the administration skill employers need to protect value.

PMI-CP builds contracts and claims capability

    EU Funding Deadlines

RRF milestones must be met by August 2026, so contractors need disciplined scope, schedule and governance to deliver funded works on time, the core of the PMI-CP toolkit.

PMI-CP builds scope and schedule discipline

    Certified Talent Shortage

Romania has many project managers but few construction-specific certified leaders. The mandatory modules and exam behind PMI-CP make holders stand out to contractors and developers.

    International Contractor Growth

Global firms expanding in Romania's infrastructure market want globally recognised credentials, giving PMI-CP holders an edge with multinational employers and joint ventures.

    PMI-CP carries global employer recognition

    Stakeholder and Governance Pressure

How to Get PMI-CP Certified in RomaniaStep-by-Step Certification Process

The PMI-CP (PMI Construction Professional) certification path in Romania is a structured single-exam track. General

What is the PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP)?

The PMI-CP is PMI's specialist certification for the construction industry. It validates your ability to apply project management skills in a construction environment across four domains: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%). It also requires completion of four mandatory self-paced modules before you apply.

Who should take the PMI-CP certification?

PMI-CP suits construction project managers, site managers and project engineers moving into project roles, programme managers, owner's representatives and construction consultants. It is aimed at experienced practitioners who want a globally recognised, construction-specific project management credential.

Is the PMI-CP recognised in Romania?

Yes. As a PMI credential, PMI-CP carries global recognition and is valued by contractors, developers and consultancies in Romania that deliver large motorway, rail, energy and building projects, including PNRR and EU-funded works.

Is PMI-CP worth it for construction professionals in Romania?

For most experienced construction professionals, yes. Construction project manager roles in Romania average around 154,000 RON a year, with director bands far higher, and PNRR-funded infrastructure is driving demand for certified leaders. Talk to a learning advisor to see how it fits your goals.

How long is the PMI-CP certification valid?

PMI-CP is valid for three years from the date of certification. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year cycle through PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements programme.

    Pricing

How much does PMI-CP training cost in Romania?

Instructor-led PMI-CP training in Romania is quoted in RON and varies by format and schedule; the current price is available on request. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI in USD and is not part of the training fee. Request a quote for the latest pricing.

What is included in the PMI-CP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, guidance on the four mandatory modules, application support, learner support and a course completion certificate with contact hours. Ask an advisor for a full inclusions list.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PMI-CP exam fee separately. For reference, it is around USD 520 for PMI members and USD 670 for non-members, and PMI individual membership is about USD 139 a year, which can reduce the exam cost. Confirm current fees at pmi.org.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts for PMI-CP training?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for construction project teams, PMOs and site leaders. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

How many questions are on the PMI-CP exam and how long is it?

The PMI-CP exam has 120 questions and you have 230 minutes, that is 3 hours 50 minutes, to complete it. It is a closed-book exam with multiple-choice questions in single-answer and multiple-answer formats.

What are the PMI-CP exam domains and their weights?

The exam covers four domains from the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%). Contracts management is the largest and most heavily weighted area.

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score rather than a fixed percentage. Results are reported as pass or fail, with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all four domains.

What happens if I do not pass the first time?

You get up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period from application approval. Our training includes domain-weighted practice, mock exams and revision support to help you prepare thoroughly and reduce the chance of a resit.

Where can I take the PMI-CP exam?

You can take the exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring from home or office, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through the Pearson VUE website or PMI's portal within your eligibility period.

    Course Content

What topics does the PMI-CP training cover?

The training covers the four PMI-CP domains: Contracts Management, Stakeholder Engagement, Strategy and Scope Management, and Project Governance. This includes contract types, administration, change orders, claims, stakeholder engagement, scope, schedule, risk, quality and governance.

Do I need to complete the four modules before the exam?

Yes. PMI requires all four self-paced modules, Project Communications, Interface Management, Scope and Change Order Management, and Contract and Risk Management, before you apply. Each is a 6 to 10 hour commitment and awards 14 PDUs, for 56 PDUs in total.

Does this training meet the 35 contact hours education requirement?

The instructor-led programme provides 32 contact hours, which is close to but below the 35 contact hours of project management education PMI requires. Check with our team whether supplementary self-study or pre-reading is credited toward the 35-hour requirement.

Are practice questions and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions aligned to the 120-question format, full-length mock exams and topic-wise quizzes, so you can identify weak areas and build exam readiness across all four domains.

Is the courseware aligned to the current standard?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and the PMBOK Guide, so your preparation reflects the domains, tasks and weightings PMI tests in the exam today.

    Enrollment

What are the eligibility requirements for PMI-CP?

You must complete the four mandatory modules and meet one of three sets: Set A, secondary diploma plus 60 months construction PM experience; Set B, a bachelor's degree plus 36 months; or Set C, a GAC-accredited degree plus 24 months. All sets need 35 contact hours of PM education.

Do I need a PMP before taking PMI-CP?

No. PMP is not a prerequisite for PMI-CP. You can apply based on your construction project management experience and education. The two are complementary, PMP validates broad project management while PMI-CP validates construction-specific expertise.

How do I enrol in the PMI-CP course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. See upcoming batches or talk to a learning advisor to get started.
