Is the ITIL 5 Foundation Bridge worth it?

Yes. It keeps your credential aligned to the latest framework that Portuguese employers increasingly expect, and ITIL-certified professionals report a 20 to 30 percent pay premium. Do I need ITIL 4 Foundation before the Bridge?

Yes. ITIL 4 Foundation, or an equivalent qualification, is the prerequisite for the Bridge. Candidates who do not hold ITIL 4 Foundation should take the full ITIL 5 Foundation course instead.

How long is the ITIL 5 certification valid?

The ITIL 5 Foundation credential is valid for three years. To maintain it, you renew every three years by earning 60 CPD points or by passing a higher ITIL 5 qualification.

What is the format of the ITIL 5 Bridge exam?

The exam is closed book and uses multiple-choice, single-answer questions. It is delivered online proctored through the PeopleCert OnVUE system, available 24/7, or at an authorised test centre.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The ITIL 5 Foundation Bridge exam has 20 questions and an allotted time of 30 minutes.

What is the passing score for the exam?

The pass mark is 65 percent, which means answering 13 of the 20 questions correctly.

Who awards and delivers the ITIL 5 exam?

AXELOS owns and develops ITIL, and PeopleCert is the sole publisher and examination body. PeopleCert delivers the exam through online proctoring or authorised test centres worldwide.

What credential do I earn on passing?

On passing the Bridge, you hold the ITIL 5 Foundation credential, equivalent to passing the full ITIL 5 Foundation exam, which also enables progression to higher ITIL 5 qualifications.

Can I take the Bridge without prior ITIL knowledge?

No. The Bridge assumes ITIL 4 Foundation knowledge and does not re-teach the basics. If you are new to ITIL, the full ITIL 5 Foundation course is the right starting point.

Is the courseware aligned with the latest ITIL 5 syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the ITIL Foundation Bridge Version 5 syllabus published by PeopleCert and AXELOS, covering only the updated ITIL 5 content.
