Risk Challenges Fuelling PMI-RMP Demand in the Philippines

    Mega-Infrastructure Risk Exposure

Build Better More is lifting 2026 infrastructure spending to around P1.5 trillion, and large transport and energy projects demand structured risk analysis, aggregation and response at scale.

PMI-RMP builds risk analysis and monitoring skills

    Public-Private Partnership Complexity

A PPP pipeline of 251 projects worth about P2.81 trillion carries heavy contractual and sovereign risk, exactly the exposure certified risk professionals are hired to identify and control.

PMI-RMP builds governance and response skills

    Banking and Regulatory Pressure

Bangko Sentral rules push banks and insurers to embed formal risk management into change and technology programmes, raising demand for professionals who can plan and govern project risk.

PMI-RMP builds risk strategy and planning skills

    Digital and IT-BPM Delivery Risk

The Philippines' large IT-BPM and global capability centre base runs agile and hybrid delivery where risk is easily missed, so employers value practitioners who identify and respond to it early.

    PMI-RMP builds risk identification skills

    Scarce Certified Risk Talent

The local pool is deep in project managers but thin in credentialed risk specialists. The PMI-RMP experience and education bar makes holders rare and sought-after in the market.

PMI-RMP makes certified risk professionals stand out

    Cost and Schedule Overrun Pressure

Rising material prices and tight timelines expose projects to overruns, so organisations increasingly rely on certified risk professionals to protect budgets, schedules and value.

How to Get PMI-RMP Certified in PhilippinesStep-by-Step Certification Process

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management, recognising expertise in identifying, assessing, responding to and monitoring project risk. It is designed for risk specialists, senior project managers, PMO analysts and consultants who focus on risk across projects and programmes.

    General

What is the PMI-RMP certification and who is it for?

The PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management, recognising expertise in identifying, assessing, responding to and monitoring project risk. It is designed for risk specialists, senior project managers, PMO analysts and consultants who focus on risk across projects and programmes.

Is the PMI-RMP worth it in the Philippines?

Yes. With Build Better More lifting 2026 infrastructure spending to around P1.5 trillion and a large PPP pipeline, employers across construction, banking, energy and IT-BPM need certified risk professionals. Risk manager roles in the Philippines average around P1.2 million a year, and certified risk talent stays scarce. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your path.

Is the PMI-RMP recognised in the Philippines?

Yes. As a PMI credential, the PMI-RMP is recognised by employers in the Philippines and worldwide. It is especially valued in high-risk sectors such as construction, infrastructure, banking, energy and technology, where formal project risk management is often contractually or regulatorily required.

Do I need a PMP before taking the PMI-RMP?

No. The PMP is not a prerequisite for the PMI-RMP. You can apply directly based on your project risk management experience and education. Many PMI-RMP holders also hold the PMP, as the two credentials are complementary, but it is not required.

How long is the PMI-RMP valid and how do I renew it?

The PMI-RMP is valid for three years from the date of certification. To maintain it, you earn 30 PDUs in risk management topics within each three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle and pay the renewal fee to PMI.

    Pricing

How much does PMI-RMP training cost in the Philippines?

Instructor-led PMI-RMP training fees vary by format, schedule and whether you enrol individually or as a group, and are available on request in local pricing. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI and is not part of the training fee. Request a quote for current pricing and upcoming batches.

What is included in the PMI-RMP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, 32 contact hours of instruction, practice questions, mock exams, downloadable templates, application guidance and learner support, plus a course completion certificate. Ask about corporate or group pricing for teams.

Is the PMI exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PMI-RMP exam fee separately. For reference, PMI lists the exam at around USD 520 for members and USD 670 for non-members, though prices vary by region. Confirm current fees on the PMI website before applying.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts for PMI-RMP training?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for risk, delivery and PMO teams. Contact us for a tailored quote for your organisation.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options available on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

The PMI-RMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022. It uses single-answer and multiple-answer questions delivered online via Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

How many questions are on the PMI-RMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 115 questions and a time limit of 2.5 hours (150 minutes). Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement.

What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and their weights?

There are five domains per the January 2022 ECO: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%). The training covers all five in depth.

What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed numeric pass mark. The passing score is set through psychometric analysis, and results are reported as pass or fail with performance feedback per domain, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

What happens if I do not pass the exam, can I retake it?

Yes. PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period from application approval. A reexamination fee applies to the second and third attempts. Our prep resources and mock exams are built to help you pass with confidence.

    Course Content

What topics does the PMI-RMP training cover?

The training covers PMI's five risk domains: Risk Strategy and Planning, Risk Identification, Risk Analysis, Risk Response, and Monitor and Close Risks. It spans qualitative and quantitative techniques and risk management across predictive, agile and hybrid delivery.

The programme provides 32 contact hours of risk management education, which fully satisfies the 30-hour requirement for Set B (bachelor's degree) and Set C (GAC accredited degree) applicants. Set A applicants need 40 hours and should add at least 8 further hours of study.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full-length mock exams aligned to the 115-question, 2.5-hour format, plus topic-wise quizzes to help you find and close gaps before exam day.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest PMI-RMP outline?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022 and the PMI Practice Standard for Project Risk Management, so your preparation matches the current exam.

Do I need prior experience to take the training?
