    How long is the Green Belt certification valid?

    The IASSC Green Belt certification holds a Current status for three years from the date of certification. To stay current, you pass a recertification exam before the status elapses, as set out by IASSC.

    What is the format of the Green Belt exam?

    The IASSC Green Belt exam is a closed-book exam of 100 multiple-choice and true or false questions, with up to 10 additional unscored questions on some forms. You have three hours to complete it, online proctored or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

    What is the passing score for the Green Belt exam?

    You need a minimum of 385 points out of 550 to pass. Questions are spread roughly evenly across the five DMAIC phases of Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control, so aim for broad mastery rather than focusing on one area.

    Where can I sit the Green Belt exam?

    You can take the exam through the IASSC web-based on-demand system with online proctoring, available 24/7, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. New Zealand candidates can choose whichever option suits them best.

    Are there prerequisites or experience required to sit the exam?

    Yes. You receive IASSC-aligned courseware, practice questions and mock exams that mirror the Green Belt format, along with reference materials and exercises to reinforce each DMAIC phase.
