Market Forces Making QFD Skills Valuable in Mozambique

    Meeting International Quality Standards

LNG, export and multinational supply chains hold Mozambican suppliers to global specifications. QFD gives teams a structured way to turn those customer and regulatory requirements into measurable engineering characteristics.

QFD translates requirements into design targets

    Competing with Imported Goods

Local makers of food, beverages and building materials compete with established imports. Products designed around what customers actually value, using the House of Quality, are far more likely to win and hold market share.

    QFD builds customer-driven design skills

    MSME Design Rework and Cost

Manufacturing MSMEs in Mozambique operate on thin margins where rework and failed launches hurt. QFD helps teams get the design right early, cutting iterations and shortening time to market.

    QFD reduces late-stage design changes

    Local-Content Supplier Readiness

As the LNG programme awards billions to Mozambican firms, suppliers must show that designs trace back to customer requirements. QFD provides that documented link from need to production control.

QFD creates a customer-to-design audit trail

No. The course introduces QFD and the House of Quality from first principles. Familiarity with product development or quality management helps but is not required, so beginners and experienced professionals can both attend and get value.

Yes. Although QFD began in manufacturing, the House of Quality applies to any situation where customer requirements must become design or delivery specifications, including healthcare, financial services, software and IT service design.

    General

What is Quality Function Deployment (QFD)?

Quality Function Deployment is a structured, customer-driven method for translating customer requirements, the Voice of the Customer, into specific engineering and process decisions. Its core tool is the House of Quality, a planning matrix used across product development, manufacturing and service design.

Who should attend the QFD training in Mozambique?

The course suits product designers, design and quality engineers, product managers, marketing and R&D professionals, and Six Sigma practitioners. Anyone who needs to turn customer needs into product or service specifications will benefit, and no prior QFD knowledge is required.

Is QFD training worth it for professionals in Mozambique?

Yes. As Mozambican manufacturers work to compete with imports and meet the standards demanded by LNG and export supply chains, professionals who can design quality in from the start are increasingly valued across food and beverage, building materials and energy sectors.

Do I need prior experience to take this course?

No. The course introduces QFD and the House of Quality from first principles. Familiarity with product development or quality management helps but is not required, so beginners and experienced professionals can both attend and get value.

Does QFD apply to services as well as products?

Yes. Although QFD began in manufacturing, the House of Quality applies to any situation where customer requirements must become design or delivery specifications, including healthcare, financial services, software and IT service design.

    Pricing

How much does QFD training cost in Mozambique?

Fees vary by delivery format (live online, classroom or corporate group) and group size, so pricing is available on request. Contact Invensis Learning for a current quote tailored to your needs, and ask about group pricing if you plan to train a team.

What is included in the course fee?

Your fee includes instructor-led training across all six QFD modules, hands-on House of Quality exercises, course materials and templates, and a course completion record from Invensis Learning. Request a quote for the full inclusions in your chosen format.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing?

Yes. Volume-based pricing is available for corporate and group bookings, which is ideal for cross-functional product and quality teams. Contact us for a tailored group quote for your organisation in Mozambique.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, and instalment options are available on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you best.

Is there a separate exam or certification fee?

No. This is a non-certification skills course, so there is no examination or external credential fee. The only cost is the training fee itself, which is available on request.

    Assessment

Is there an exam for the QFD course?

No. Quality Function Deployment Training is a non-certification course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on House of Quality construction exercises, case studies and team discussion during the one-day programme.

What will I receive after completing the training?

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. There is no external credential or awarding body, as QFD is a practical skills methodology rather than a certification scheme.

    How is my learning assessed?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you build and interpret real House of Quality matrices through practical exercises during the course, so you leave able to apply QFD to your own products and services.

How long is the QFD training?

The course runs for one day (8 hours). It covers QFD foundations, Voice of the Customer capture, full House of Quality construction, interpretation, the four-phase QFD cascade, and QFD in DFSS, DMAIC and service design, with hands-on exercises throughout.

Will the skills expire or need renewal?

No. QFD is a practical skill with nothing to maintain or renew. Once learned, the House of Quality method is immediately applicable and stays with you throughout your career.

    Course Content

What topics does the QFD course cover?

The course covers QFD principles and origins, capturing and structuring the Voice of the Customer with affinity diagrams and the Kano model, building the six rooms of the House of Quality, interpreting it, cascading QFD through four phases, and applying it in DFSS, DMAIC and services.

What is the House of Quality?

The House of Quality is the central QFD planning matrix. It links customer requirements to measurable engineering characteristics, scores their relationships, maps design trade-offs in the correlation roof, benchmarks competitors, and sets engineering targets anchored to customer priorities.

What are the four phases of QFD?

The four-phase QFD cascade runs from Product Planning, the House of Quality, to Parts Deployment, Process Planning and Production Planning. Each phase carries customer requirements one level deeper, giving traceability from customer need to production control.

    Are there hands-on exercises?

Yes. You build a full House of Quality from a realistic scenario, structure the Voice of the Customer with an affinity diagram, classify needs with the Kano model, calculate column importance and identify design conflicts, so the learning is practical throughout.

How does QFD relate to Six Sigma?

QFD is a core tool in Design for Six Sigma, the DMADV Measure phase, and is used in the DMAIC Define phase to translate the Voice of the Customer into critical-to-quality requirements. The course shows how to apply QFD within both.

    Enrollment

How do I enrol in the QFD course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, course materials and joining details. Talk to a learning advisor if you need help choosing a batch.

    What training formats are available?

The course is available as live online (live virtual) instructor-led training, in-person classroom training, and customised corporate on-site sessions for teams in Mozambique, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule. Many learners opt for the Quality Function Deployment course online for the added flexibility.

Can the course be delivered for my team on-site?

Yes. Corporate on-site delivery is available and works well, because your cross-functional team can build a House of Quality for one of your own products during the exercises, creating immediate value. Contact us for a group quote.
