What Is Lean and Why It Matters in Mozambican WorkplacesUntitledYour Introduction to the Lean Mindset

The Lean Fundamentals Training is a one-day introductory course that gives professionals a practical grounding in Lean management, a proven approach to maximising customer value while removing waste from everyday work. This Lean Fundamentals training in Mozambique introduces the five Lean principles, the eight wastes and the core tools teams use to improve process flow, from the shop floor to the back office. Lean is rooted in the Toyota Production System (TPS) developed by Taiichi Ohno and Shigeo Shingo, and its five principles, Identify Value, Map the Value Stream, Create Flow, Establish Pull and Seek Perfection, were codified by James Womack and Daniel Jones in Lean Thinking (1996). You learn to identify the eight wastes (DOWNTIME) and apply foundational tools including 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kanban, standard work and Kaizen. With Mozambique's manufacturing, energy, logistics and agri-processing employers under pressure to do more with less, a shared Lean vocabulary helps teams cut delays, defects and cost. This is a non-certification course: there is no exam, and you leave with a course completion record from Invensis Learning and skills you can apply the next day.

Is the Lean Fundamentals course worth it for professionals in Mozambique?

What framework is the course based on?

The training is grounded in Lean management, rooted in the Toyota Production System developed at Toyota by Taiichi Ohno and Shigeo Shingo. Its five principles were codified by James Womack and Daniel Jones in Lean Thinking (1996).

It suits all employees, team members, supervisors, managers and professionals across every industry and function who want to understand Lean and apply it. It is also a strong entry point for teams starting a Lean transformation.
