It is designed for programme managers, PMO heads, directors of delivery and senior practitioners with substantial programme experience.

What is the PgMP certification and who is it for?

Is the PgMP worth it for programme leaders in Mexico City?

Yes. PgMP validates senior programme leadership and positions you for roles such as Programme Manager, Head of PMO and Programme Director. With nearshoring hubs, banking and consulting scaling in Mexico City, credentialed programme leaders are in strong demand and command higher salary bands.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PgMP?

PMI offers three sets. Set A: secondary diploma plus 48 months of project management experience (or an active PMP) and 84 months of programme experience. Set B and Set C require a bachelor's degree with 48 or 36 months of programme experience. All experience must be within the past 15 years.

Is PMP required before the PgMP?

No. PMP is not a mandatory prerequisite. However, an active PMP satisfies the project management experience requirement across all three eligibility sets, so PMP holders only need to document their programme management experience.

How long is the PgMP valid and how do I renew it?

The PgMP is valid for three years. To maintain it you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle, with a minimum of 8 PDUs in each area, within every three-year continuing certification requirements cycle.

Pricing

How much does PgMP training cost in Mexico City?

PgMP training fees vary by format and are available on request. The PMI exam fee is billed separately in USD under regional pricing and is not part of the training fee. Request a quote or speak with a learning advisor for current pricing and group options.

What is included in the PgMP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, exam simulator access, templates, application and panel-review support, learner support, and a course completion certificate with contact hours.

Is the PMI exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PgMP exam fee separately in USD. For reference, it is around USD 800 for PMI members and USD 1,000 for non-members; verify current fees on pmi.org. PMI membership can reduce the exam cost.

What is the format of the PgMP exam?

The PgMP exam is closed book with multiple-choice questions across five performance domains. It is based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition, and is delivered via Pearson VUE online proctoring or a test centre.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The PgMP exam has 170 questions and an allotted time of four hours. The five domains are Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%).

What is the PgMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PgMP. A panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented experience and competency. It must be passed in addition to the written exam to earn the credential.

What is the passing score for the PgMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. The result is determined through psychometric analysis, with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so focus on broad mastery across all five domains.

How many attempts do I get for the PgMP exam?

You are allowed up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility period from the date your application is approved. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts; confirm current amounts on pmi.org.

What topics does the PgMP training cover?

The training covers all five PgMP performance domains: Strategic Program Management, Program Life Cycle Management, Benefits Management, Stakeholder Engagement and Governance, plus guidance on the PMI application, panel review and exam strategy.

What learning resources and materials are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, references to the PgMP Examination Content Outline and Handbook, an overview of The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition, templates, flashcards and topic-wise quizzes.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes a large bank of practice questions, full-length mock exams, an exam simulator and topic-wise quizzes to help you identify weak areas and build readiness for the 170-question exam.

Is the courseware aligned with the latest PgMP standard?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition, and the current PgMP Examination Content Outline, so you prepare against the standard and domains PMI actually tests.

Do I need prior experience to benefit from the training?

The PgMP is a senior credential, so the training is designed for experienced professionals who already manage programmes or multiple related projects. It builds on that experience to prepare you for the exam and panel review.
