What is the format of the PgMP exam?

The PgMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and the Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition. Questions span five performance domains and use scenario and situational formats.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 170 questions and an allotted time of four hours. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback, so focus on broad mastery across all five domains.

What are the PgMP exam domains and their weights?

Five domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%). Program Life Cycle Management carries the most weight on the exam.

What is the PgMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to PgMP. A panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented experience. It is a mandatory step alongside the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential.

What if I do not pass the exam the first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period from application approval. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our training and practice resources are built to help you prepare thoroughly for a strong first attempt.

What topics are covered in the PgMP training?

The training covers the five PgMP performance domains: Strategic Program Management, Program Life Cycle Management, Benefits Management, Stakeholder Engagement and Governance, plus programme finance, risk, procurement, application guidance and exam strategy.

Do I need prior experience for the training?

Anyone can attend the training, but the PgMP credential is senior. PMI requires substantial project and programme management experience to apply. The course suits experienced managers and PMP holders preparing for the application, panel review and exam.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and mock exams aligned to the 170-question, four-hour PMI format, plus topic-wise quizzes to help you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

Is the courseware aligned with the latest PgMP standard?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to PMI's Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition, and the current PgMP Examination Content Outline covering the five performance domains.

Will I receive a certificate of completion?

Yes. After meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate along with the contact hours earned through the programme.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PgMP exam?

PMI has three eligibility sets. With a four-year degree you need 48 months of project management experience (or an active PMP) plus 48 months of programme management experience within the last 15 years. With a secondary diploma the programme requirement rises to 84 months.

Is PMP required before PgMP?

No. PMP is not mandatory for PgMP. However, an active PMP satisfies the project management experience requirement across all three eligibility sets, so PMP holders only need to document their programme management experience.
