CSM is Scrum Alliance's entry-level Scrum Master certification. It validates your understanding of the Scrum framework, the Scrum Master role and the values that make Scrum teams effective, and it is the most widely recognised Scrum Master credential worldwide.

Is the CSM certification worth it in Mexico?

Yes. Scrum Master roles in Mexico average around MX$581K a year and rise with seniority, and demand is strong across nearshore software, banking and product teams. CSM is how employers verify you can facilitate agile delivery, so it is a valuable first credential.

Who should take the CSM course?

The course suits aspiring Scrum Masters, project managers moving to agile, developers, testers and team leads, and managers who work with Scrum teams. It is ideal for anyone in Mexico's technology or financial sectors who wants formal recognition of their Scrum knowledge.

Do I need experience to take the CSM?

No. There is no formal education or work experience requirement for CSM. It is designed for people new to Scrum as well as those who want to formalise existing team experience, so beginners and career changers are welcome.

How long is the CSM certification valid?

CSM is valid for two years. To renew it, you earn 16 Scrum Education Units (SEUs) and pay the Scrum Alliance membership renewal fee within each two-year cycle. SEUs can be earned through courses, events, coaching and self-study.
