    What is the format of the Green Belt exam?

    The Green Belt exam is a closed-book exam with multiple-choice and true or false questions covering the five DMAIC phases. It is delivered through online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

    How many questions are on the Green Belt exam?

    The exam has 100 questions, with up to 10 additional unscored pretest questions on some forms. You are allotted three hours to complete it.

    What is the passing score for the Green Belt exam?

    You need a minimum of 385 points out of 550 to pass. Questions are spread roughly evenly across the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control phases, so prepare across all five.

    Do I need prior experience to sit the exam?

    No. There are no formal prerequisites for the Green Belt exam. Training and real-world project experience are recommended but not mandatory, so you can certify on merit.

    What if I do not pass the exam first time?

    You can re-sit the exam by purchasing another attempt. Our exam-focused preparation, practice questions and mock assessments are designed to build your readiness and confidence before you sit. Talk to a learning advisor about preparation support.

    Course Content

    What topics does the Green Belt training cover?

    The training covers the full DMAIC method: defining projects and customer requirements, measuring performance and capability, analysing root causes with statistics, improving with regression and experiments, and controlling gains with SPC, plus Lean tools such as 5S and Poka-Yoke.

    How long is the training and what is the format?

    The programme runs for 32 training hours, available in flexible schedules such as full-day or extended part-day formats. It is delivered live online or in the classroom, with hands-on exercises and case studies throughout.

    Are practice tests and materials included?

    Yes. You receive structured courseware, practice questions aligned to the exam format, mock assessments and reference materials to reinforce each DMAIC phase and build exam readiness.

    Is the course suitable for beginners?

    Yes. The course builds from core concepts to statistical and Lean tools, so beginners can follow along while experienced professionals deepen their skills. No prior Six Sigma qualification is required to start.

    Is the courseware aligned to the latest Body of Knowledge?

    Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current IASSC Green Belt Body of Knowledge, which is organised around the five DMAIC phases at an intermediate level of proficiency.
