Is the PgMP worth it for programme leaders in Moldova?

Yes. The PgMP is a globally recognised marker of programme leadership, valued by Moldovan IT services firms, banks and public-sector employers running large, strategy-critical programmes. With fewer than 3,000 holders worldwide and demand rising as EU-backed investment scales, it is a strong differentiator for senior roles.

Do I need a PMP before taking the PgMP?

No. A PMP is not a mandatory prerequisite for the PgMP. However, an active PMP satisfies the project management experience requirement across all three eligibility sets, so PMP holders only need to document their programme management experience.

How long is the PgMP certification valid?

The PgMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle, with at least 8 PDUs in each area, within each three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle.

What standard is the PgMP based on?

The PgMP is based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition, published by PMI. Both define the five performance domains and the tasks and enablers the exam assesses.

What is the format of the PgMP exam?

The PgMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and The Standard for Program Management, 4th Edition. It is delivered online via Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The PgMP exam has 170 questions and an allotted time of four hours (240 minutes). Questions are distributed across the five performance domains defined in the Examination Content Outline.

What is the PgMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PgMP. A panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented experience and competency. It is a mandatory step alongside the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential.

What is the passing score for the PgMP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail, with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

How many attempts do I get for the PgMP exam?

You get up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility period that begins when your application is approved. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts; confirm the current amounts on pmi.org.

What topics does the PgMP training cover?

The training covers all five PgMP performance domains: Strategic Program Management, Program Life Cycle Management, Benefits Management, Stakeholder Engagement and Governance, plus guidance on the PMI application, panel review and exam strategy.

What are the five PgMP exam domains and their weights?

The five domains are Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%). Program Life Cycle Management carries the most weight on the exam.

Is the courseware aligned with the latest standard?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PgMP Examination Content Outline and The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition, so you prepare against the material PMI actually assesses.

What learning resources and materials are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, references to the PgMP Examination Content Outline and Handbook, practice questions, mock exams, templates, flashcards and topic-wise quizzes to support your revision.

Will I receive a certificate of completion after the training?

Yes. After meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate along with the contact hours earned, which also count towards PDUs. This is separate from the PgMP credential, which PMI awards after you pass the panel review and exam.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PgMP?

PMI offers three sets. With a secondary diploma you need 48 months of project management experience or an active PMP, plus 84 months of programme experience. With a bachelor's degree the programme requirement drops to 48 months, and to 36 months with a GAC-accredited degree, all within the past 15 years.

How do I enrol in the PgMP course in Moldova?
