    Is there an exam for Minitab Essentials Training?

    No. This is a non-certification course with no exam. Your learning is reinforced through live, hands-on Minitab exercises throughout the day, and you receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning on finishing.

    How is my learning assessed?

    There is no formal assessment. You practise each technique in Minitab as the trainer demonstrates it, using realistic quality datasets, so you build proficiency through doing rather than through a test.

    What will I be able to do after the course?

    You will be able to import and manage data, build quality graphs, run t-tests, ANOVA and chi-square tests, create control charts, produce capability reports, and run regression and Gauge R&R studies in Minitab.

    Does this prepare me for Six Sigma projects?

    Yes. Minitab is the standard tool for the Measure and Analyse phases of Six Sigma DMAIC. The course gives you the hands-on software skills to perform the analyses that Green Belt and Black Belt projects require.

    The course uses current Minitab statistical software, which Minitab LLC updates regularly. Confirm the exact version and any software access details with your learning advisor before the session.

    Course Content

    What topics does the training cover?

    The course spans six modules: Minitab interface and data management; descriptive statistics and graphs; hypothesis testing; statistical process control; process capability analysis; and regression with measurement system analysis (Gauge R&R).

    What graphs and charts will I learn to build?

    You will create histograms, boxplots, scatter plots, time series plots and Pareto charts, plus control charts such as I-MR, Xbar-R, P and C charts, and the Capability Sixpack report, all live in Minitab.

    Does it cover control charts and capability analysis?

    Yes. You learn to build and interpret I-MR, Xbar-R, P and C control charts, apply Western Electric rules, and run capability analysis with Cp, Cpk, Pp and Ppk for both normal and non-normal data.

    Is the training hands-on?

    Very. Every module is delivered with live, follow-along Minitab exercises using realistic quality and process datasets. You build genuine software fluency by practising each analysis, not by watching passively.

    How long is the course?

    The programme runs for one day (about eight hours), covering all six Minitab modules with hands-on exercises throughout. It can also be arranged as two half-days, depending on the schedule that suits you.
