    What is the format of the IASSC Yellow Belt exam?

    The exam has 60 questions, is closed book, and uses multiple-choice and true or false formats. You are allotted two hours to complete it, and some forms include up to six additional non-graded questions.

    What score do I need to pass the Yellow Belt exam?

    You must achieve a minimum of 230 points out of 300. Questions are spread across the five DMAIC phases, with roughly 12 questions per phase, so broad coverage of all areas is the best preparation.

    How and where do I take the exam?

    You can sit the exam online through IASSC's web-based on-demand proctored system, available 24/7, or at a Pearson VUE testing centre. This gives you flexibility to take it from home, the office or a centre near you.

    Are there prerequisites for the Yellow Belt exam?

    No. IASSC sets no prerequisites for the Yellow Belt exam. Training and real-world experience are recommended but not mandatory, so anyone can prepare for and take the exam.

    Do I need prior experience or statistics knowledge?

    No. The Yellow Belt is designed for beginners and introduces statistics at an awareness level. The training builds concepts step by step, so you do not need a technical or quality background to start.

    What Lean tools will I learn?

    You will be introduced to core Lean tools including the seven wastes, 5S, value stream mapping, Kanban and Poka-Yoke mistake proofing, all framed within the DMAIC improvement cycle.

    Are practice questions and materials provided?
