Why PRINCE2 Skills Are in Demand Across Kyoto

    Ageing Technical Workforce

Kyoto's manufacturing workforce fell from 165,000 in 2010 to about 138,000 in 2023, with 8,000 to 10,000 skilled technicians retiring by end 2026, making structured project governance and handover critical.

PRINCE2 builds defined roles and knowledge transfer

    Smart-Factory Transformation

Industry 4.0 and smart-factory programmes across Kyoto's electronics makers demand disciplined business cases, stage boundaries and change control that certified PRINCE2 practitioners are trained to provide.

PRINCE2 builds business case and stage-control skills

    Global HQ Portfolio Complexity

Six global headquarters sit within 15km of Kyoto Station, employing 348,000+ worldwide. Coordinating multi-country projects needs a shared, tailorable method that PRINCE2 delivers at scale.

PRINCE2 gives teams a common governance language

    Deep-Tech Startup Scaling

Spinouts from Kyoto Research Park and Kyoto University scale quickly and need lightweight but real governance. PRINCE2 tailoring lets small teams add just enough structure without slowing delivery.

    PRINCE2 tailoring suits fast-scaling ventures

    Global and Domestic Delivery Gap

International employers value PRINCE2 governance while domestic teams prize consensus and documentation quality. Tailoring the method bridges both, a skill the Practitioner credential validates.

PRINCE2 bridges international and local practice

    Tourism and Infrastructure Pressure

Recovering tourism and city infrastructure projects require prioritisation, risk aggregation and clear governance, exactly the disciplined control that credentialed project leaders bring to complex initiatives.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

PRINCE2 Practitioner validates your ability to apply and tailor PRINCE2 principles, practices and processes to the needs of a given project scenario. It is designed for project managers and aspiring project managers who already hold PRINCE2 Foundation or an accepted equivalent and want to manage projects using PRINCE2.

    General

What is the PRINCE2 Practitioner certification and who is it for?

PRINCE2 Practitioner validates your ability to apply and tailor PRINCE2 principles, practices and processes to the needs of a given project scenario. It is designed for project managers and aspiring project managers who already hold PRINCE2 Foundation or an accepted equivalent and want to manage projects using PRINCE2.

Is PRINCE2 Practitioner worth it for professionals in Kyoto?

Yes. Kyoto's global headquarters, precision manufacturers and technology firms run complex, governance-heavy projects where a tailorable, recognised method adds real value. Certified project leaders are in demand, and senior project roles in Japan command strong salary bands.

Is PRINCE2 recognised in Japan and internationally?

Yes. PRINCE2 is recognised globally, with particular strength in the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific. International employers in Japan value it for its governance discipline, and PeopleCert operates in over 200 countries.

How is Practitioner different from PRINCE2 Foundation?

Foundation is a closed-book exam testing knowledge and comprehension at awareness level. Practitioner is open book, scenario based and tests your ability to apply and tailor PRINCE2 in realistic projects. Foundation, or an accepted equivalent, is a prerequisite for Practitioner.

Which edition of PRINCE2 does this training cover?

This training covers the current PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023), published by AXELOS and delivered by PeopleCert, and follows the PRINCE2 7 Managing Successful Projects manual. PRINCE2 7 introduced the People capability, renamed themes to practices, and added sustainability and digital data.

    Pricing

How much does PRINCE2 Practitioner training cost in Kyoto?

Training fees vary by format, schedule and whether an exam voucher is bundled, so pricing is available on request. Request a quote and a learning advisor will share current options for live virtual, classroom and corporate delivery in Kyoto.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes accredited instructor-led training, PRINCE2 7 aligned courseware, scenario-based practice, mock exams and open-book exam technique coaching, plus learner support and a course completion certificate. Confirm inclusions when you request a quote.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

The PeopleCert exam is often bundled with accredited training but can also be purchased separately. Exam pricing varies by region and channel, so confirm current fees when you enrol or check peoplecert.org.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for project, PMO and transformation teams. Ask about corporate and group pricing for a tailored quote for your organisation.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam is open book, so the Managing Successful Projects manual is permitted. It uses scenario-based objective test questions, including multiple choice, matching and assertion-reason formats, and is delivered online via PeopleCert OnVUE or at an authorised test centre.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 56 questions and sub-questions worth 70 marks, and you have 150 minutes (2 hours 30 minutes) to complete it. Because it is open book and scenario based, it tests applied judgement rather than recall.

What is the passing score for PRINCE2 Practitioner?

The pass mark is 60%, which is 42 out of 70 marks. The course prepares you to reach this through scenario practice and efficient navigation of the PRINCE2 manual under timed conditions.

What are the prerequisites to sit the Practitioner exam?

You need PRINCE2 Foundation, or an accepted equivalent such as PMP, CAPM or IPMA Level A, B, C or D. There is no formal work-experience requirement, though the credential is designed for practising or aspiring project managers. Verify current accepted equivalents at peoplecert.org.

What happens if I do not pass on the first attempt?

You can resit the exam, and our training includes scenario practice and exam technique coaching to help you pass. Selected plans include retake support. Confirm the current resit policy and fees with your advisor or at peoplecert.org.

    Course Content

What syllabus areas does the training cover?

The course covers all nine Practitioner syllabus areas: PRINCE2 Principles, Practices and Processes, Key Roles and Responsibilities, People Management and Collaboration, Sustainability and ESG, Digital and Data Management, Effective Communication, and Tailoring to your needs.

What is new in PRINCE2 7 compared with PRINCE2 6?

PRINCE2 7 (2023) introduced the People capability as a core element, renamed themes to practices, and added sustainability, ESG and digital data management. It also updated the processes and management products, which this training reflects throughout.

Are practice questions and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes scenario-based practice questions and mock exams mapped to the Practitioner syllabus, plus open-book technique drills, to help you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

Do I need prior experience to take this course?

You should hold PRINCE2 Foundation or an accepted equivalent before sitting the Practitioner exam, as the course builds on that knowledge. If you are new to PRINCE2, we can guide you through the Foundation to Practitioner path.

How long is the certification valid?

PRINCE2 Practitioner is valid for three years. You can renew by retaking and passing the exam, completing CPD through a PeopleCert MyAxelos subscription, or passing a higher-level PRINCE2 qualification.

    Enrollment

What are the eligibility requirements to enrol?

Anyone can enrol in the training. To sit the Practitioner exam you need PRINCE2 Foundation or an accepted equivalent such as PMP, CAPM or IPMA Level A to D. There is no formal work-experience requirement for the exam.

How do I enrol in the PRINCE2 Practitioner course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor if you need help choosing.

What training formats are available in Kyoto?

We offer online (live virtual) instructor-led training and classroom sessions, plus customised corporate group training. This lets you choose the format that fits your schedule and learning style across Kyoto and beyond.

    How soon can I start?

New live virtual and classroom cohorts run regularly, so you can usually start within a short time of enrolling. See upcoming schedules or speak with an advisor to find the next available batch.

What is the reschedule or refund policy?

Selected plans let you reschedule or transfer to another batch, and some include a money-back guarantee. Reach out to our team for the details that apply to your enrolment.
