    How long is the PMI-CP certification valid?

    The PMI-CP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year continuing certification requirements cycle, with at least eight PDUs in each area.

    Do I need a PMP before taking the PMI-CP?

    No. A PMP is not a prerequisite for the PMI-CP. You can pursue it directly based on your construction project management experience and education. The two credentials are complementary, with the PMP covering general project management and the PMI-CP validating construction-specific expertise.

    What is included in the PMI-CP training fee?

    How much does the PMI-CP exam cost?

    Is the exam fee included in the training price?

    What is the format of the PMI-CP exam?

    The PMI-CP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline. It is delivered via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre, with single-answer and multiple-answer question formats.

    How many questions are on the PMI-CP exam and how long is it?

    The exam has 120 questions and an allotted time of 230 minutes, which is three hours and 50 minutes. Results are reported with domain-level feedback such as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement.

    What are the four PMI-CP exam domains and their weights?

    The four ECO domains are Contracts Management at 50%, Stakeholder Engagement at 30%, Strategy and Scope Management at 15% and Project Governance at 5%. Contracts Management is the largest, reflecting how central contract administration and claims are to construction delivery.

    What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

    PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score and does not publish a fixed percentage. Your result is reported as pass or fail with domain-level performance feedback, so aim for broad mastery across all four domains.

    What if I do not pass the PMI-CP exam the first time?

    You are permitted up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility period that begins when your application is approved. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts, and our prep resources and mock exams help you close gaps before you retake.

    What are the PMI-CP prerequisites and mandatory modules?
