    General

What is the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification?

The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is an intermediate process improvement credential from the International Association for Six Sigma Certification (IASSC). It validates your ability to lead data-driven DMAIC projects at a practitioner level.

Who should take Green Belt certification training?

It suits quality engineers, operations and manufacturing professionals, analysts and anyone who supports or leads improvement projects. In Yokohama it is popular across automotive, electronics and life-sciences employers.

Is the Green Belt certification worth it for my career?

Yes. The credential is globally recognised and maps to roles such as quality engineer, process improvement specialist and continuous improvement manager, which in Japan command strong salary bands. It is also a clear step towards Black Belt. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your path.

Do I need prior experience or a Yellow Belt first?

No. IASSC sets no formal prerequisites for the Green Belt, although some quality or project experience helps. You can enrol whether or not you already hold a Yellow Belt.

Is the certification recognised by employers in Yokohama?

Yes. IASSC is an independent, globally recognised body, and Lean Six Sigma is valued across Yokohama's automotive, electronics, life-sciences and logistics employers that rely on data-driven quality improvement.

How long is the Green Belt certification valid?

The credential holds Current status for three years. To stay current you pass a recertification exam before the elapse date, as set out by IASSC.

    Exam

What is the format of the Green Belt exam?

It is a closed-book exam of 100 multiple-choice and true or false questions; some forms add up to 10 unscored questions. You have three hours and can sit it online proctored or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What is the passing score for the exam?

You need a minimum of 385 out of 550 points to pass. Questions are spread roughly evenly across the five DMAIC phases, so aim for broad mastery across all of them.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 100 questions with a three-hour time allotment. Up to 10 additional unscored pretest questions may appear on some exam forms.

What if I do not pass the exam first time?

You can retake the exam by purchasing another voucher. Our training includes practice questions and full mock exams to build readiness and reduce the chance of needing a resit.

How do I schedule and sit the Green Belt exam?

Buy the exam voucher from the IASSC orders site, then schedule online on-demand proctoring, available 24/7, or a Pearson VUE test centre. No application or panel review is required.

    Course Content

No. The programme builds statistical concepts from the basics, so beginners can follow along. Practical examples and exercises help you apply hypothesis testing and control charts with confidence.

How many training hours does the programme include?

The Green Belt programme covers 32 hours of training, delivered as intensive full days or spread across several shorter sessions depending on the schedule you choose.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive courseware aligned to the IASSC Green Belt Body of Knowledge, practice questions, mock exams, quizzes and reference templates to support revision and on-the-job application.

Is there hands-on or project-based practice?
