Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management. It recognises your expertise in identifying project risks, mitigating threats and capitalising on opportunities, and is designed for professionals who specialise in risk on projects and programmes.

    General

    What is the PMI-RMP certification?

The PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management. It recognises your expertise in identifying project risks, mitigating threats and capitalising on opportunities, and is designed for professionals who specialise in risk on projects and programmes.

Is the PMI-RMP worth it for professionals in Milan?

Yes. Milan's banks, insurers, engineering firms and consultancies increasingly seek certified risk specialists as regulation tightens and programmes grow. Risk manager roles in Italy average around EUR 56,000, with head-of-risk bands reaching EUR 83,000 and above, so the credential supports real career and earning growth.

    Who should take PMI-RMP training?

The RMP suits project and programme managers, risk analysts, risk consultants and PMO professionals who manage or want to specialise in project risk. It is ideal for those working in high-risk sectors such as finance, construction, energy and consulting.

Do I need a PMP before the PMI-RMP?

No. PMP is not a prerequisite for the RMP. You can apply directly based on your risk management experience and education, though many holders carry both credentials because they complement each other.

    Is the PMI-RMP recognised internationally?

Yes. As a PMI credential, the RMP is recognised by employers worldwide. It is especially valued in high-risk industries such as construction, defence, energy and financial services, where formal project risk management is often contractually or regulatorily required.

    Pricing

How much does PMI-RMP training cost in Milan?

Training fees vary by format and schedule and are available on request. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI in USD under regional pricing and is not part of the training fee. Request a quote to see current options for live online, classroom and corporate delivery.

What is included in the PMI-RMP course fee?

The fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, 32 contact hours of instruction, practice questions, mock exams, application guidance and learner support, along with a course completion certificate. Contact a learning advisor for full inclusions.

How much is the PMI-RMP exam fee?

PMI bills the exam in USD, approximately USD 520 for PMI members and USD 670 for non-members, though prices vary by region. PMI membership can reduce the exam cost and provides access to the PMI Practice Standard for Project Risk Management. Confirm current fees with PMI.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for delivery teams, PMOs and risk functions. Ask about corporate or group pricing for a tailored quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

The exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022. It uses single-answer and multiple-answer questions across five risk management domains.

How many questions are on the PMI-RMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 115 questions and lasts 2.5 hours (150 minutes). Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement.

What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and their weights?

There are five domains per the January 2022 exam content outline: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%).

What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Aim for broad mastery across all five domains rather than a target percentage.

What if I do not pass the exam the first time?

You are allowed up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period from application approval. Our practice questions, mock exams and trainer support are designed to prepare you thoroughly for your first sitting.

    Course Content

What topics does the PMI-RMP training cover?

The training covers the five RMP domains: Risk Strategy and Planning, Risk Identification, Risk Analysis, Risk Response, and Monitor and Close Risks, plus qualitative and quantitative tools and application to predictive, agile and hybrid projects.

Do I need prior experience to attend the training?

Anyone can attend the training. To sit the exam, PMI requires project risk management experience and risk education under one of three eligibility sets, so the programme suits professionals already working with project risk.

Does this training meet the PMI education requirement?

Yes. The programme provides 32 contact hours of risk education, which fully meets the 30-hour requirement for Set B (bachelor's degree) and Set C (GAC accredited degree) candidates. Set A candidates need 40 hours and should add supplementary study.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams and topic-wise quizzes aligned to the 115-question format, helping you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest exam content outline?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022 and the PMI Practice Standard for Project Risk Management.
