    How long is the CSPO certification valid?

    The CSPO is valid for two years. You renew it by earning 16 Scrum Education Units (SEUs) and paying the Scrum Alliance membership renewal fee within each two-year cycle.

    Is there an exam to become a Certified Scrum Product Owner?

    No. The CSPO has no exam. The certification is awarded on successful completion of an approved CSPO course delivered by a Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Trainer.

    How do I get the CSPO certification?

    Complete the approved CSPO course, then accept the Scrum Alliance licence agreement and code of ethics to activate the credential in your Scrum Alliance member account.

    How is the CSPO course delivered?

    The course is delivered live virtual or in a classroom by a Certified Scrum Trainer, typically over two days. Both formats qualify for certification. Self-study without an approved course does not qualify.

    Is the content aligned to the latest Scrum Guide?

    Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current Scrum Alliance CSPO Learning Objectives and the current Scrum Guide, including the Product Goal as the Product Backlog commitment.

    How is the CSPO different from the CSM?

    The CSPO focuses on the Product Owner role, covering product vision, backlog and value, while the CSM focuses on the Scrum Master role and team facilitation. Many professionals pursue the one that matches their role first.
