Skills You Will Build in This ProgrammeCapabilities Across the Risk Lifecycle

You will learn to manage project risk end to end, from setting strategy and identifying risks to analysing, responding and monitoring, using the tools and techniques in PMI's January 2022 exam content outline. By the end, you can build a risk plan, run analysis and lead risk on complex projects.

    Risk Strategy and Planning

Set the risk approach and governance for a project: analyse documents, assess the environment for threats and opportunities, confirm risk thresholds, and build a tailored risk management plan aligned to predictive, agile or hybrid delivery.

    Risk Identification

Run structured identification exercises using brainstorming, the Delphi technique, SWOT and assumption analysis, then document risks clearly in the register and validate it with stakeholders for completeness.

    Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis

Prioritise risks with probability and impact assessment, and apply quantitative tools such as Monte Carlo simulation, decision trees, sensitivity analysis and expected monetary value to model their effect on cost and schedule.

    Risk Response Planning and Delivery

What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

The PMI-RMP exam is closed book with multiple-choice questions, including single-answer and multiple-answer formats. It is delivered via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre, and is based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 115 questions and you have 2.5 hours (150 minutes) to complete it. Results are reported with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement.
