Why This DFSS Training Pays off at WorkSkills You Apply on Live Design Projects

    For Individuals

    For Individuals

This training helps engineers and design professionals build the capability to design quality in from the outset, not inspect it in later. It suits product and process engineers, R&D staff, NPD managers and quality engineers who want structured, workplace-ready design skills. Whether you are launching a new consumer product, redesigning a process, or moving into a design-quality role, the programme equips you with the DMADV method and the core DFSS tools that engineering training rarely covers.

If you want to prove you can deliver robust, customer-aligned designs, DFSS is a practical, immediately useful skill set. You gain hands-on practice with voice of the customer capture, CTQ flow-down, concept selection and design verification that you can put to work straight away.

    • Design first-time quality into products so you cut costly rework and warranty claims
    • Run the full DMADV roadmap on a real new product or process design project
    • Turn customer needs into measurable CTQs employers can design and test against
    • Build practical fluency in QFD, the Pugh matrix, DFMEA and robust design
    • Stand out to Ghana's manufacturers, food and beverage firms and mining employers
    • Add the design counterpart to DMAIC and widen your Six Sigma toolkit
    • Reduce design iterations and speed up time to launch with structured methods
    • Apply the tools to your own live design work the moment training ends
    For Organizations

    For Organizations

Group training helps organisations build design-quality capability by equipping engineering, R&D and quality teams with a structured method and shared tools. The programme can be delivered for a single team or across multiple manufacturing sites. For organisations that want new products to meet quality targets from launch, DFSS reduces the cost of late design changes and improves first-pass yield.

If your teams keep fixing quality problems that trace back to the original design, in-house DFSS training gives them a common approach to voice of the customer, CTQ flow-down, concept selection and robust design, so quality is built in before production begins.

    • Design first-time quality into new products and cut rework, scrap and warranty cost
    • Give design, R&D and quality teams one shared DMADV language and toolkit
    • Improve new product introduction so launches hit quality targets sooner
    • Embed VOC, QFD and DFMEA into your stage-gate development process
    • Reduce reliance on late-stage firefighting by preventing design defects
    • Strengthen readiness for ISO, export and customer quality requirements
    • Deliver flexible in-house training for engineering and NPD teams
    • Build durable in-house design-quality capability across sites

This one-day training teaches the method and the DMADV roadmap (Define, Measure, Analyse, Design, Verify).

    General

What is Design for Six Sigma (DFSS)?

Design for Six Sigma is a proactive Six Sigma methodology for designing new products, services and processes to reach Six Sigma quality levels from the outset, rather than improving them after defects appear. This one-day training teaches the method and the DMADV roadmap (Define, Measure, Analyse, Design, Verify).

Is Design for Six Sigma training worth it in Ghana?

Yes. As Ghana's manufacturing and food sectors grow and export standards tighten, teams that design first-time quality reduce rework, scrap and warranty cost. The skills apply immediately to new product and process design across manufacturing, food and beverage, mining and energy employers.

    Who should attend this training?

It suits product and process engineers, R&D professionals, new product development managers, quality engineers, manufacturing engineers and Six Sigma Green and Black Belts. Anyone responsible for designing new products, services or processes will benefit.

How is DFSS different from DMAIC?

DMAIC improves existing processes that are underperforming, while DFSS designs new products and processes to meet requirements from the start using the DMADV roadmap. This course covers DFSS and DMADV, the design counterpart that organisations use alongside DMAIC.

Do I need prior Six Sigma knowledge?

No. There are no formal prerequisites. Familiarity with basic Six Sigma concepts such as CTQ and variation is helpful, but the course introduces DFSS and all its tools from first principles.

    Pricing

How much does Design for Six Sigma training cost in Ghana?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you apply the tools through practical exercises, working through VOC to CTQ flow-down, a QFD House of Quality, the Pugh matrix and a Design FMEA on realistic design scenarios.

Will I be able to apply the tools at work?

Yes. The training is built around workplace application, so you can use the DMADV method and tools such as QFD, DFMEA and robust design on live design projects as soon as the course ends.

Are there any prerequisites to join?

None. The course is open to all and introduces the DFSS methodology and every tool from the ground up, so both experienced practitioners and those new to design quality can take part.

    Course Content

What will I learn in this training?

You will learn the DMADV roadmap and the core DFSS tools: voice of the customer capture and the Kano model, CTQ flow-down, Quality Function Deployment, concept selection with the Pugh matrix, Design FMEA, robust design and design verification and validation.

    Which design-quality tools are covered?

The programme covers VOC and Kano analysis, CTQ flow-down, the QFD House of Quality, Pugh concept selection, Design FMEA with RPN, the P-diagram and Taguchi robust design, tolerancing, design for manufacturability, and the design scorecard.

Is the training hands-on or theory only?

It is hands-on. Tool exercises run throughout the day using realistic product and process design scenarios, so you practise building a House of Quality, running a Pugh matrix and completing a Design FMEA, not just reading about them.

How long is the training and how is it structured?

The course runs for one day (8 hours) across six modules covering all five DMADV phases, from DFSS foundations and VOC through CTQ flow-down, QFD, concept selection, DFMEA, robust design and design verification, with exercises throughout.

Is the content aligned to current DFSS practice?

Yes. The training follows the established DMADV roadmap and the widely used DFSS toolset, the same methods leading manufacturers apply in new product development and process design today.
