Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PMI-RMP is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management, recognising expertise in identifying, assessing and responding to project risk. It is designed for risk managers, senior project managers, PMO analysts and consultants who specialise in risk on projects and programmes.

    General

What is the PMI-RMP certification and who is it for?

The PMI-RMP is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management, recognising expertise in identifying, assessing and responding to project risk. It is designed for risk managers, senior project managers, PMO analysts and consultants who specialise in risk on projects and programmes.

Is the PMI-RMP worth it for professionals in Valencia?

Yes. Valencia's automotive, port logistics, chemical and infrastructure sectors run complex, risk-heavy projects and value certified risk specialists. Risk manager roles in Spain average around €74,907 a year, and holders stand out for senior roles as employers formalise risk within their PMOs.

Is the PMP required before the PMI-RMP?

No. The PMP is not a prerequisite for the PMI-RMP. You can apply directly based on your risk management experience and education. Many PMI-RMP holders also hold the PMP, as the two credentials are highly complementary.

How does the PMI-RMP differ from the PMP?

The PMP is a broad project management credential covering all knowledge areas, while the PMI-RMP focuses entirely on project risk management: strategy, identification, analysis, response and monitoring. The PMI-RMP proves specialist risk depth beyond general project management.

How long is the PMI-RMP valid and how do I renew it?

The PMI-RMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 30 PDUs in risk management topics within each three-year cycle through PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements system.

    Pricing

How much does PMI-RMP training cost in Valencia?

Fees vary by format, so instructor-led and self-paced options are priced separately, and the PMI exam fee is billed by PMI in USD and is not part of the training fee. Contact us for current Valencia pricing or request a quote for your preferred format.

What is included in the course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, 32 contact hours, practice questions, mock exams, downloadable templates, application guidance and learner support, plus a course completion certificate. Ask a learning advisor for a full inclusions list.

How much is the PMI-RMP exam fee?

PMI bills the exam fee in USD under regional pricing. For reference, it is around USD 520 for PMI members and USD 670 for non-members; confirm current fees at pmi.org before applying. PMI membership can reduce the exam cost.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for PMOs, engineering teams and risk functions in Valencia. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

The PMI-RMP exam is closed book with multiple-choice questions, in single-answer and multiple-answer formats. It is delivered via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre, and is based on the PMI-RMP ECO effective January 2022.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The PMI-RMP exam has 115 questions and a time limit of 2.5 hours (150 minutes). It is a closed-book, multiple-choice exam covering the five risk management domains.

What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and their weights?

The five domains under the January 2022 ECO are Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%).

What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP?

PMI does not publish a fixed pass mark. The passing score is set through psychometric analysis, and results are reported as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement by domain, so focus on broad mastery across all five domains.

What if I do not pass the first time?

You have up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility period from application approval. Re-examination fees apply to later attempts. Our practice questions, mock exams and trainer support are designed to help you pass the first time.

    Course Content

What topics does the PMI-RMP training cover?

The training covers the five ECO domains: risk strategy and planning, risk identification, risk analysis, risk response, and monitoring and closing risks, across predictive, agile and hybrid delivery, plus application and exam strategy.

Does the training satisfy the PMI-RMP education requirement?

Yes for most candidates. The programme provides 32 contact hours, which fully satisfies the 30-hour risk management education requirement for Set B and Set C applicants. Set A candidates need 40 hours and should add supplementary study.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams and topic-wise quizzes aligned to the 115-question format, helping you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest ECO?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline, effective January 2022, and to the PMI Practice Standard for Project Risk Management and the PMBOK Guide.

Can I attend without prior risk management experience?

Yes. Anyone can attend the training to build risk skills and earn the contact hours. To sit the PMI-RMP exam, PMI requires documented project risk management experience and education under one of its three eligibility sets.

    Enrollment

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMI-RMP?

PMI offers three sets: Set A (secondary diploma, 36 months of risk experience in the last 5 years, 40 education hours); Set B (bachelor's degree, 24 months, 30 hours); and Set C (GAC-accredited degree, 12 months, 30 hours). Experience must be specifically in project risk.
