    What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

    The PMI-RMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022. It is delivered via Pearson VUE, either online proctored through OnVUE or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

    How many questions are on the PMI-RMP exam and how long is it?

    The exam has 115 questions and lasts 2.5 hours (150 minutes). Questions use single-answer and multiple-answer formats across the five risk management domains.

    What are the five PMI-RMP exam domains and their weights?

    Per the January 2022 ECO, the five domains are Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%), and Monitor and Close Risks (15%).

    What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

    PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. The passing score is set through psychometric analysis, and results are reported with domain-level feedback (Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement), so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

    What if I do not pass the first time?

    Yes. The programme provides 32 contact hours of risk management education, which fully satisfies the 30-hour requirement for Set B and Set C applicants. Set A applicants need 40 hours and should supplement with at least 8 additional hours.
