What is the format of the PMI-ACP exam?

The PMI-ACP exam is closed book with multiple-choice questions, based on the PMI-ACP Examination Content Outline published in January 2018. Questions are distributed across seven agile domains and test your ability to apply agile tools in realistic scenarios.

How many questions are on the PMI-ACP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 120 questions and a three-hour allotted time. It is delivered online with Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMI-ACP?

You need a secondary degree, 2,000 hours of general project experience in the last five years, 1,500 hours of agile experience in the last three years, and 21 contact hours of agile training. PMP or PgMP holders already meet the general experience requirement.

What is the passing score for the PMI-ACP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all seven domains.

What if I do not pass the exam on the first attempt?

PMI permits up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility window from application approval. Reexamination fees apply to later attempts. Our mock exams and trainer support are designed to help you prepare for a first-time pass.

Anyone can attend the training, and it delivers the 21 contact hours PMI requires. To sit the exam, however, PMI requires documented general and agile project experience, so the credential itself is aimed at working practitioners rather than complete beginners.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full-length mock exams aligned to the 120-question format, plus topic-wise quizzes to help you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

Is the courseware aligned with the current PMI-ACP outline?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the PMI-ACP Examination Content Outline published in January 2018, which remains the current version, and draws on recognised references including the Agile Practice Guide.

Will I receive a certificate of completion after the training?

Yes. After completing the training you receive a course completion certificate confirming the 24 contact hours earned, which satisfy PMI's 21-hour agile training prerequisite in full.
