What Is Kanban and Why It Matters for Czech TeamsUntitledA Visual System for Pull-Based Flow

Kanban Training in Czechia is a practical, one-day programme that teaches you to manage work as a visual, pull-based flow. The word Kanban means signboard in Japanese, and the method uses simple signals to authorise work only when real demand appears, so nothing is overproduced. It began in the Toyota Production System under Taiichi Ohno and was later adapted for knowledge work by David J. Anderson. You learn both sides of Kanban: the manufacturing pull system of production and withdrawal signals, supermarkets and kanban sizing, and the knowledge-work Kanban board with its columns, work-in-progress limits and flow metrics. Hands-on exercises let you design real boards and pull loops for your own workflow. The training suits production and operations managers, Lean coordinators, Agile coaches, Scrum Masters and IT or delivery managers across Czechia's automotive, technology and shared-services employers. This is a skills course with no exam, so you leave able to apply Kanban at work from day one and receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning.

The Payoff of Learning KanbanValue for Individuals and Teams

    For Individuals

    For Individuals

Kanban training helps you turn messy, overloaded work into a calm, visible flow. You learn to map how work really moves, limit what is in progress, and use simple metrics to make delivery faster and more predictable. Whether you run a production line in the automotive belt, manage an IT backlog in Prague or Brno, or coach an Agile team, the skills transfer directly to your day-to-day role.

If you want a practical, immediately useful skill rather than another theory course, Kanban is a strong choice. You leave able to design boards and pull loops, set WIP limits, and interpret flow data with confidence.

    • Deliver work faster by limiting work in progress and clearing bottlenecks
    • Make your whole workflow visible so priorities and blockers are obvious
    • Cut lead times using flow metrics such as cycle time and throughput
    • Design pull systems that stop overproduction and reduce excess inventory
    • Apply Kanban in manufacturing, IT, services or Agile delivery with equal confidence
    • Combine Kanban with Scrum through Scrumban for flexible delivery
    • Read a Cumulative Flow Diagram to spot problems before they grow
    • Stand out to Czech employers hiring for flow and continuous improvement skills
    For Organizations

    For Organizations

Kanban group training helps organisations build a shared, practical approach to managing flow. Teams learn to visualise work, limit overload and use data to improve, whether on a shop floor or in a service desk queue. For Czech employers balancing lean production with growing digital delivery, this creates one consistent way of working across sites and functions.

If your teams start more than they finish, or your inventory and lead times run higher than they should, Kanban training gives them the tools to fix it. The result is smoother delivery, lower waste and better use of capacity.

    • Standardise how teams visualise and manage work across departments
    • Reduce lead times and improve delivery predictability with WIP limits
    • Lower inventory and overproduction in manufacturing pull systems
    • Give teams a shared language of flow, blockers and continuous improvement
    • Deliver tailored training for production, IT or service teams onsite or online
    • Build in-house capability to sustain Kanban without outside dependence
    • Improve capacity management by making real workload visible

Market Pressures Making Kanban Skills Valuable in Czechia

    Overproduction and Excess Inventory

Czech automotive and manufacturing plants carry costly buffer stock. Kanban pull systems authorise production only on real demand, cutting overproduction, the waste Taiichi Ohno called the worst of all.

    Kanban builds pull-production skills

    Unpredictable Delivery in IT

Prague and Brno software and shared-services teams struggle to forecast delivery. Kanban flow metrics and WIP limits make lead times visible and far more predictable.

    Kanban builds flow-metric skills

    Multitasking and WIP Overload

Knowledge workers are handed more work than they can finish, so context-switching drains output. Limiting work in progress restores focus and steady, sustainable flow.

    Kanban builds focus and flow

    Just-In-Time Supply Complexity

Tier suppliers to Czech carmakers must replenish precisely. Kanban loops and e-Kanban align supply to actual consumption, reducing stockouts and freeing tied-up capital.

    Kanban builds replenishment skills

    Scaling Agile Across Teams

As Czech firms scale Agile, teams need flow alongside iterations. Scrumban blends Kanban boards and WIP limits with Scrum cadences for smoother, calmer delivery.

    Kanban builds Scrumban skills

    Continuous Improvement Skills Gap

Employers want people who can read a Cumulative Flow Diagram and act on it. Kanban builds the evidence-based improvement skills that operations and IT teams now expect.

Skills You Will Build with KanbanPractical, Hands-On Capabilities

This Kanban course covers the practical skills you will use straight away, from designing pull systems and Kanban boards to sizing kanban loops and reading flow data. Each topic pairs a concept with a hands-on exercise so you can apply it to your own workflow the next day.

Push vs Pull and the Kanban Signal

Explain why pull beats push, how the kanban signal authorises work only on real demand, and why overproduction is the waste that hides all others. This is the foundation for both manufacturing and knowledge-work Kanban.

    Designing Manufacturing Kanban Systems

Work with production and withdrawal kanban, one-bin and two-bin systems, supermarkets and e-Kanban. Learn how the two-kanban loop creates a self-pacing pull system on the factory floor.

    Sizing Kanban and Pull Loops

Calculate kanban quantity and the number of cards using takt time, demand and replenishment lead time, and apply the six Kanban rules so the system caps inventory by design and keeps improving.

Building Kanban Boards and WIP Limits

Design boards with columns, swimlanes, classes of service and a clear definition of done, then set work-in-progress limits that force teams to finish work before starting more.

Measuring Flow with Metrics and the CFD

Measure lead time, cycle time and throughput, apply Little's Law, and read a Cumulative Flow Diagram to spot bottlenecks, growing queues and process changes, then improve from the evidence.

    Implementing Kanban and Scrumban

Start with what you do now, roll Kanban out across manufacturing or knowledge work, blend it with Scrum as Scrumban, and sustain it so WIP limits and kanban quantities keep falling over time.

Both. The course covers manufacturing Kanban from the Toyota Production System, including production and withdrawal signals, supermarkets and kanban sizing, and knowledge-work Kanban for software, IT and services, including boards, WIP limits and flow metrics.

Yes. Czech automotive plants, technology firms and the many shared-services centres in Prague and Brno increasingly value people who can design pull systems and manage flow. Kanban skills support roles from Scrum Master and delivery manager to production manager, which command competitive salaries locally.

No. There are no formal prerequisites and the course introduces every concept from first principles. Some familiarity with Lean or production operations is helpful for the manufacturing modules, but it is not required.

The programme runs for one day, around eight hours in total, and can also be delivered as two half-days. It covers Kanban foundations, manufacturing pull systems, kanban sizing, boards and WIP limits, flow metrics and implementation, with hands-on exercises throughout.

    General

What is Kanban and who is this training for?

Kanban is a visual, pull-based way of managing work that limits what is in progress and improves flow. This one-day training is for production and operations managers, Lean coordinators, Agile coaches, Scrum Masters, and IT or delivery managers in Czechia who want a practical, immediately usable skill.

Is Kanban only for software teams or also for manufacturing?

Both. The course covers manufacturing Kanban from the Toyota Production System, including production and withdrawal signals, supermarkets and kanban sizing, and knowledge-work Kanban for software, IT and services, including boards, WIP limits and flow metrics.

Is Kanban worth learning in Czechia?

Yes. Czech automotive plants, technology firms and the many shared-services centres in Prague and Brno increasingly value people who can design pull systems and manage flow. Kanban skills support roles from Scrum Master and delivery manager to production manager, which command competitive salaries locally.

Do I need any prior experience to take Kanban training?

No. There are no formal prerequisites and the course introduces every concept from first principles. Some familiarity with Lean or production operations is helpful for the manufacturing modules, but it is not required.

How long is the Kanban training?

The programme runs for one day, around eight hours in total, and can also be delivered as two half-days. It covers Kanban foundations, manufacturing pull systems, kanban sizing, boards and WIP limits, flow metrics and implementation, with hands-on exercises throughout.

    Pricing

How much does Kanban training in Czechia cost?

Pricing depends on the delivery format, whether you join a public session or book for a team, and group size. Current fees are available on request. Contact a learning advisor for a quote tailored to your needs.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led sessions, structured courseware and learning resources, hands-on Kanban design exercises, learner support, and a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. Request a quote for the full inclusions on your chosen format.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with volume-based pricing and customised scheduling for production, IT or service teams. Ask about corporate or group pricing for a tailored quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

Is there a discount for booking as a team?

Team and corporate bookings usually qualify for volume-based pricing. The more colleagues you enrol together, the better the per-person rate tends to be. Contact us with your group size for a quote.

    Assessment

Is there an exam at the end of the Kanban training?

No. This is a non-certification skills course with no exam. Your learning is reinforced through hands-on Kanban design exercises, case examples and group discussion during the day rather than a formal test.

What will I receive after completing the course?

You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning that records your attendance and learning. There is no external awarding body, and the practical skills you gain are immediately usable and do not expire.

How is my learning assessed during the training?

Learning is assessed informally through the exercises you complete, such as calculating kanban quantities, designing pull loops and Kanban boards, setting WIP limits and interpreting a Cumulative Flow Diagram. The trainer gives feedback as you apply each concept.

What will I be able to do after the course?

You will be able to explain push versus pull, design a manufacturing Kanban supermarket, calculate kanban quantities, build a Kanban board with WIP limits and classes of service, apply Scrumban, measure lead time, cycle time and throughput, and read a Cumulative Flow Diagram.

    Is this a certification course?

No. Kanban training is a practical, non-certification skills course. It builds workplace capability rather than preparing you for an exam, and you leave with a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning and skills you can apply straight away.

    Course Content

What topics does the Kanban training cover?

The course covers Kanban origins and pull production, manufacturing Kanban types and mechanics, kanban system sizing and implementation, knowledge-work boards and WIP limits, flow metrics and the Cumulative Flow Diagram, and implementing and sustaining Kanban.

Does the course cover both manufacturing and knowledge-work Kanban?

Yes. You learn the manufacturing pull system rooted in the Toyota Production System and the knowledge-work Kanban method formalised by David J. Anderson, so the training applies to factories, IT, services and Agile teams alike.

Will I learn to size kanban systems and design boards?

Yes. Hands-on exercises take you through kanban quantity calculation, the number of cards in a loop, supermarket design, and building a Kanban board with columns, swimlanes and WIP limits for a realistic scenario.

Does the training cover flow metrics and the Cumulative Flow Diagram?

Yes. You learn to measure lead time, cycle time and throughput, apply Little's Law, and read a Cumulative Flow Diagram to identify bottlenecks and improve flow using evidence rather than opinion.

Is Scrumban covered in the course?

Yes. The implementation module explains Scrumban, which combines the Scrum cadence and ceremonies with Kanban's visual workflow and WIP limits, so teams can blend iteration-based planning with flow-based execution.
