What Is the PgMP Certification?UntitledPMI's Credential for Senior Programme Leaders

The Program Management Professional (PgMP) is PMI's senior credential for professionals who manage multiple related projects as one coordinated programme to deliver strategic benefits an organisation could not achieve by managing them separately. Held by fewer than 3,000 practitioners worldwide, it is one of PMI's most exclusive certifications. Invensis Learning's PgMP certification training in Chile prepares senior programme managers, PMP holders and PMO leaders to sit the exam and complete the multi-rater panel review. The programme is aligned to PMI's Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition, and the PgMP Examination Content Outline (ECO), covering all five performance domains: Strategic Program Management, Program Life Cycle Management, Benefits Management, Stakeholder Engagement and Governance. As Chile scales a USD 83 billion mining pipeline, the energy transition and fast-growing digital investment, employers increasingly separate credentialed programme leaders from the rest. With instructor-led sessions, application guidance and exam-focused practice, you can move from experienced delivery leader to certified programme professional. Start your PgMP journey with Invensis Learning.

Market Forces Driving Programme Talent Demand in Chile

    Mega-Project Portfolio Complexity

Chile's USD 83 billion mining pipeline and large energy projects run many interdependent projects at once, demanding programme-grade coordination and risk aggregation that PgMP is built to deliver.

PgMP builds programme coordination and risk skills

    Strategy-To-Delivery Gap

Boards fund transformation and capital programmes, but weak links between strategy and the funded project mix cause value leakage that certified programme leaders are hired to close.

PgMP builds prioritisation and benefits skills

    Cloud and Digital Transformation Pressure

With a USD 4 billion AWS region and financial services leading IT spend, organisations need programme leaders who can govern complex, multi-workstream digital change.

    PgMP builds multi-workstream governance skills

    Programme Governance Maturity Gap

Many Chilean enterprises run capable PMOs at project level but lack a strategy-aligned programme governance layer, exactly the capability the PgMP validates.

    PgMP builds strategy-aligned governance skills

    Scarcity of Certified Programme Leaders

Chile's talent pool is deep in project managers but thin in credentialed programme managers. PgMP's rigorous eligibility and panel review make holders rare and valued.

PgMP makes certified leaders stand out

    Capital Discipline and Benefits Pressure

Capital discipline in mining, energy and banking pushes organisations to optimise programmes, retire low-value work and prove benefits, all core PgMP skills.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PgMP (Program Management Professional) is PMI's senior credential for professionals who manage multiple related projects as one coordinated programme to deliver strategic benefits. It suits experienced programme managers, PMP holders, PMO heads and delivery directors. Fewer than 3,000 practitioners worldwide hold it.

    General

What is the PgMP certification and who is it for?

The PgMP (Program Management Professional) is PMI's senior credential for professionals who manage multiple related projects as one coordinated programme to deliver strategic benefits. It suits experienced programme managers, PMP holders, PMO heads and delivery directors. Fewer than 3,000 practitioners worldwide hold it.

Is the PgMP worth it for senior professionals in Chile?

Yes. In Chile, programme and PMO leadership roles command strong salary bands, and PgMP is a recognised marker of senior capability as mining, energy, banking and technology employers scale strategy-critical portfolios. It helps you stand out in a market thin on certified programme leaders. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your route.

Is the PgMP recognised by employers in Chile?

Yes. As a PMI credential, the PgMP carries global recognition across more than 200 countries and is valued by leading Chilean and multinational employers in mining, energy, financial services, retail and technology.

Do I need PMP before PgMP?

No. PMP is not a mandatory prerequisite. However, an active PMP satisfies the project management experience requirement across all three eligibility sets, so PMP holders only need to document their programme management experience.

How long is the PgMP certification valid?

The PgMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle, with at least eight PDUs in each area, within every three-year continuing certification requirements cycle.

    Pricing

What is included in the PgMP training fee?

Instructor-led PgMP training includes PMI-aligned courseware covering all five programme domains, practice questions modelled on the exam, mock tests, downloadable templates, application and panel-review guidance, and learner support. Ask about upcoming batches for current inclusions.

How much does PgMP training cost in Chile?

Training fees are quoted locally and vary by format and schedule. The PMI exam fee is billed separately in USD under regional pricing. Request a quote for current PgMP training prices in Chile.

Is the PMI exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PgMP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing, and members typically pay less than non-members. PMI membership can lower both the exam fee and renewal costs. Confirm current fees on pmi.org.

Do you offer corporate or group pricing in Chile?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with tailored schedules and volume-based pricing for PMOs, business units and leadership teams across Chile. Contact us for a group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What if I do not pass the exam on the first attempt?

You can retake the PgMP exam. PMI permits up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period, and re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our training and practice resources are designed to prepare you for a first-time pass.

What is the format of the PgMP exam?

The PgMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and PMI's Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition. Questions span five performance domains and include single and multiple-answer formats.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 170 questions and an allotted time of four hours. Results are reported against domain performance rather than a fixed percentage score.

What is the PgMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PgMP. A panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented experience. Both the panel review and the written exam must be passed to earn the credential.

Where can I take the PgMP exam in Chile?

You can sit the exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring from home or office, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through PMI's portal or Pearson VUE within your eligibility period.

What is the passing score for the PgMP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

    Course Content

Do I need prior experience to join the PgMP training?

You can enrol in the training at any time, but the PgMP exam itself requires substantial experience. PMI expects four to seven years of programme management experience depending on your education, plus project management experience or an active PMP.

What topics does the PgMP training cover?

The training covers all five performance domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%), plus application and panel-review preparation.

Which standard and edition is the training based on?

The programme is aligned to PMI's Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition, and the current PgMP Examination Content Outline (ECO), so your preparation reflects the framework the exam is built on.

    What learning resources are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions and mock exams mapped to the PgMP ECO, downloadable programme management templates, quizzes and flashcards, and references to the PgMP Handbook.

Will I receive a certificate of completion?

Yes. After meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate along with the contact hours earned through the programme, which support your PgMP application and PDUs.

    Enrollment

How soon can I start and how do I enrol?

You can enrol online and join the next available batch. Choose your format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and resources. See upcoming batches or talk to a learning advisor to get started.

    What training formats are available?

We offer live online (live virtual) instructor-led training, classroom sessions where available, self-paced e-learning, and customised corporate group training, so you can choose what fits your schedule.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PgMP exam?

PMI offers three sets: a secondary diploma with 48 months of project management experience or PMP plus 84 months of programme experience; a four-year degree with 48 months plus 48 months; or a GAC-accredited degree with 36 months plus 36 months, all within the past 15 years.

Can I reschedule to another batch?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch, and selected plans let you attend the training twice. Contact support to arrange this.

What is the refund or cancellation policy?

Refunds and cancellations follow our published policy, and selected plans include a money-back option. Reach out to our team for the details that apply to your enrolment.
