What You Will Master Across the DMAIC CyclePractical Skills You Can Apply at Work

This programme builds the full Green Belt toolkit, from defining a project to controlling the result. By the end, you can lead or support a scoped improvement project end to end and stand ready for the IASSC exam.

    Define and Scope Improvement Projects

Skills covered in the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt start here: build a business case and project charter, capture voice of the customer, identify critical-to-quality characteristics, and frame problems using the Y = f(x) approach.

    Measure Process Performance

Map processes with SIPOC and value stream maps, run measurement system analysis and Gage R&R, and quantify performance with metrics such as DPMO, yield and process capability.

    Analyse Root Causes with Data

Apply descriptive and inferential statistics, the central limit theorem and hypothesis testing, including t-tests, ANOVA and chi-squared, to separate real root causes from noise.

    Improve Processes Using Experiments

Use simple and multiple regression, correlation and designed experiments, including full factorial designs, to identify and confirm the changes that drive measurable improvement.

    Control and Sustain the Gains

Hold improvements with statistical process control charts, control plans and response plans, so processes stay capable and stable long after the project closes.

Apply Lean Tools to Remove Waste

Integrate Lean within DMAIC using 5S, value stream mapping, Kanban and Poka-Yoke to eliminate the seven wastes and build error-proofed, efficient processes.

    General

Is the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt worth it in Zurich?

Yes. In Zurich's high-cost pharma, banking, insurance and manufacturing sectors, employers value professionals who can deliver measurable efficiency. Green Belt roles average around CHF 115,000 a year, and the skills support progression into quality and operational excellence leadership.

What is the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification?

It is an intermediate process improvement credential awarded by IASSC. It validates your ability to apply the DMAIC method, Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control, to reduce defects, variation and waste on scoped improvement projects.

    Who should take this training?

It suits professionals in quality, operations, manufacturing, finance, healthcare and supply chain who want to lead or support improvement projects. It also helps those aiming to progress towards Black Belt and senior roles.

Do I need work experience or a Yellow Belt first?

No. There are no prerequisites for the Green Belt. Training and real-world experience are recommended but not mandatory, so newcomers and experienced practitioners can both enrol.

How long is the certification valid?

The IASSC Green Belt is valid for three years from your certification date. To keep current status, you pass a recertification exam of 75 questions before your three-year date or within 90 days after.

    Pricing

What is included in the training fee?

The fee typically covers instructor-led sessions, courseware aligned to the IASSC Green Belt Body of Knowledge, practice questions, mock exams and learner support. The exam voucher is purchased separately from IASSC. Request a quote for current pricing.

How much does the training cost in Zurich?

Pricing varies by format and schedule, so the exact fee is available on request. Live online and corporate group options are available, and our team can recommend the best fit for your goals. Talk to a learning advisor for a quote.

Is the exam fee part of the training price?

    Exam

What is the format of the IASSC Green Belt exam?

It is a closed-book exam of 100 questions using multiple-choice and true or false formats. Some versions include up to 10 additional unscored questions. You have three hours to complete it.

What score do I need to pass?

You must achieve a minimum of 385 points out of 550. Questions are spread roughly evenly across the five DMAIC phases, so broad mastery across Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control matters.

How and where do I take the exam?

You can sit it through the online proctored web-based system, available on demand around the clock, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. You choose the delivery mode when you purchase your exam voucher.

What is the exam application process?

After your training, purchase an exam voucher from the official certification body, choose online proctored or a test centre, then schedule your sitting. An optional non-proctored evaluation exam is available to check your readiness first.

What happens if I do not pass the first time?

You can retake the exam by purchasing another voucher. Our trainers provide preparation guidance and exam-aligned practice questions to help you build readiness and approach a resit with confidence.

    Course Content

What topics does the Green Belt syllabus cover?

The training follows the five DMAIC phases: Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control. It covers statistics, hypothesis testing, regression, designed experiments and statistical process control, plus Lean tools such as 5S, value stream mapping and Poka-Yoke.

Can a beginner follow the course?

Yes. The programme builds from fundamentals through to statistical analysis, so no prior Lean Six Sigma background is required. Trainers explain the statistics in plain terms and support you with practical, guided exercises.

Is there hands-on or project-based practice?

Yes. The training applies the DMAIC tools to real or simulated improvement projects, so you practise scoping, measuring, analysing and controlling a process rather than just learning theory.

How long is the training and what materials are included?

The programme runs for 32 hours of training, available in flexible schedules. You receive courseware aligned to the Green Belt Body of Knowledge, practice questions, mock exams and quizzes to support your preparation.

Is the courseware aligned to the current Body of Knowledge?

Yes. The content is mapped to the current IASSC Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Body of Knowledge, covering all five DMAIC phases at the intermediate cognitive level the exam expects.
