    Exam

What is the format of the IASSC Green Belt exam?

The ICGB exam is a closed-book exam of 100 questions using multiple-choice and true or false formats, with a three-hour allotted time. Some exam forms include up to 10 additional unscored pretest questions.

What is the passing score for the ICGB exam?

You must achieve a minimum of 385 points out of 550. Questions are spread roughly evenly across the five DMAIC phases, so broad mastery across Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control is the best preparation strategy.

Where and how can I take the exam?

You can sit the exam through IASSC's web-based, online proctored system available on demand, or at a Pearson VUE testing centre. This gives you flexibility to test from home or office, or in person near Basel.

Are there any prerequisites for the exam?

No. IASSC sets no education, experience or training prerequisites for the Green Belt exam. Training and project experience are recommended to prepare well, but they are not mandatory to register.

How long is the certification valid?

The IASSC Green Belt is valid for three years from the date of certification. To maintain current status, you pass a recertification exam of 75 questions within a two-hour allotted time, with a minimum 70% score.

    Course Content

What topics does the Green Belt training cover?

The training covers all five DMAIC phases: Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control. You learn process mapping, measurement system analysis, statistics, hypothesis testing, regression, designed experiments and statistical process control.

Will I learn statistical analysis tools?

Yes. You learn descriptive statistics, normal and non-normal hypothesis testing, simple and multiple regression, and control charts. These analytical skills are the core that distinguishes Green Belt level from Yellow Belt awareness.

Does the course include Lean tools?

Yes. Lean tools are integrated within DMAIC, including the seven wastes, 5S, value stream mapping, Kanban and Poka-Yoke. These help you streamline flow and sustain improvements alongside the Six Sigma statistical methods.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full-length mock exams aligned to the IASSC exam format. These help you identify weak areas, build recall and gain confidence before sitting the ICGB exam.

Is the courseware aligned to the IASSC Body of Knowledge?

Yes. The courseware is mapped to the IASSC Green Belt Body of Knowledge, which is structured around the five DMAIC phases. This keeps your preparation aligned with exactly what the ICGB exam assesses.
