Prioritise risks with the probability and impact matrix, then apply Monte Carlo simulation, decision trees, sensitivity analysis and expected monetary value to model the aggregate effect of risk on cost and schedule.

    Risk Response Planning

Develop responses for threats (avoid, transfer, mitigate, accept) and opportunities (exploit, share, enhance, accept). You will plan contingency and fallback actions and fold reserves into the project baseline.

    Monitoring and Closing Risks

Track triggers, residual and secondary risks, run periodic risk reviews and report exposure to stakeholders. You will formally close resolved risks and capture lessons learned for future projects.

    Exam Readiness and Application Support

Prepare for the 115-question, 2.5-hour closed-book exam with practice questions mapped to the five domains, plus guidance on documenting your risk experience and education for the PMI application.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

The exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice test based on PMI's Examination Content Outline effective January 2022. It uses single-answer and multiple-answer questions across the five risk domains and can be taken online proctored or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The RMP exam has 115 questions and a duration of 2.5 hours (150 minutes). It is delivered via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What are the five PMI-RMP exam domains and their weights?

The five domains from the January 2022 ECO are Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%).

What is the passing score for the exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score and does not publish a fixed percentage. Results are reported as pass or fail, with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery of all five domains.

What if I do not pass on the first attempt?

You are allowed up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility window. Our mock exams and trainer support are designed to prepare you thoroughly, and re-examination fees apply to later attempts; confirm current amounts at pmi.org.

    Course Content

What topics are covered in the PMI-RMP training?

Can a beginner or first-time risk professional take this course?

Yes. The training builds from the fundamentals to advanced risk techniques, so professionals newer to formal risk management can follow it. You should, however, meet PMI's experience and education prerequisites before sitting the exam.

What learning materials and practice are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, references to the Examination Content Outline and Practice Standard for Project Risk Management, templates, and practice questions and mock exams mapped to the exam format to help you find and close gaps.

Does the training cover agile and hybrid risk management?

Yes. In line with the 2022 ECO, the course covers risk management across predictive, agile and hybrid delivery, so you can apply the techniques to modern project environments.

Does the training meet the PMI risk-education requirement?

The programme provides 32 contact hours, which fully satisfies the 30-hour risk-education requirement for Set B and Set C applicants. Set A applicants need 40 hours and should add at least eight further hours of risk training.

    Enrollment

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMI-RMP?

PMI offers three routes: Set A (secondary diploma, 36 months of risk experience in the last five years, 40 hours of risk education), Set B (bachelor's degree, 24 months, 30 hours) and Set C (GAC-accredited degree, 12 months, 30 hours). Anyone can enrol in the training itself.
