Why Project Risk Skills Are in Demand Across Bangkok

New Digital Banks Building Risk Functions

Thailand's three new digital banking licences are standing up risk frameworks, compliance and governance from scratch in 2026, driving sharp demand for professionals who can structure project and programme risk.

PMI-RMP builds risk strategy and governance skills

    Tighter Regulatory Expectations

The Bank of Thailand keeps raising risk, governance and resilience expectations, so financial institutions need certified specialists who can embed structured risk practice into every major change programme.

    PMI-RMP builds disciplined risk practice

    Megaproject Delivery Risk

With THB 359.8bn of transport megaprojects advancing in 2026, infrastructure developers face complex schedule, cost and safety risk that structured, portfolio-grade risk management is built to control.

PMI-RMP builds risk analysis and response skills

    Data Centre and Digital Build-Out

Bangkok's data centre and digital-transformation boom brings high capital outlay and tight timelines, where weak risk planning quickly erodes value and certified risk leaders are hired to protect it.

    PMI-RMP builds quantitative risk skills

    Scarce Certified Risk Talent

Thailand has a deep pool of project managers but few credentialed risk specialists, so the PMI-RMP and its qualifying experience make holders rare and highly sought after.

PMI-RMP makes certified risk specialists stand out

    Energy Transition and Capital Discipline

Energy and utility firms delivering renewables, grid and gas projects face high-consequence risk and capital pressure, pushing them to hire specialists who can quantify and respond to uncertainty.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PMI-RMP is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management. It recognises expertise in identifying, assessing and responding to project risks. It suits project managers, risk specialists, PMO analysts and consultants who lead risk on complex projects and programmes.

    General

What is the PMI-RMP certification and who is it for?

The PMI-RMP is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management. It recognises expertise in identifying, assessing and responding to project risks. It suits project managers, risk specialists, PMO analysts and consultants who lead risk on complex projects and programmes.

Is the PMI-RMP worth it for professionals in Bangkok?

Yes. Bangkok's banks, energy majors and infrastructure developers run large, high-stakes projects that need disciplined risk management, and certified risk specialists are in short supply. Risk Manager roles in Thailand average around THB 1.76M a year, with senior bands far higher. Talk to a learning advisor to start.

Do I need a PMP before taking the PMI-RMP?

No. PMP is not a prerequisite for the PMI-RMP. You can apply directly based on your risk management experience and education, though many holders hold both credentials as they complement each other well.

Which standard is the PMI-RMP based on?

It is based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline (ECO) effective January 2022, aligned to the PMI Practice Standard for Project Risk Management and the current PMBOK Guide, covering predictive, agile and hybrid approaches.

How long is the PMI-RMP valid and how do I renew it?

The PMI-RMP is valid for three years. You renew it by earning 30 PDUs in risk management topics within each three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle, reported through PMI's CCR system.

    Pricing

What is included in the PMI-RMP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, 32 contact hours of instruction, practice questions, mock exams, application guidance, learner support and a course completion certificate. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI. Request a quote for current pricing.

How much does PMI-RMP training cost in Bangkok?

Pricing varies by format and schedule, so it is available on request. Live virtual, classroom and corporate options are quoted separately, and the PMI exam fee is paid directly to PMI. Contact us for a tailored quote.

How much is the PMI-RMP exam fee?

For reference, PMI charges around USD 520 for members and USD 670 for non-members, billed in USD under regional pricing. Fees can change, so confirm the current amount on pmi.org before you apply.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for PMOs, risk functions and delivery teams. Contact us for a tailored quote for your organisation.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

The PMI-RMP exam is closed book with 115 multiple-choice questions in single and multiple-answer formats, based on the January 2022 ECO. It is delivered online via Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 115 questions and you have 2.5 hours (150 minutes) to complete it. It is closed book with multiple-choice questions across the five risk management domains.

What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and weights?

Five domains: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%), per the ECO effective January 2022.

What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP?

PMI does not publish a fixed pass mark. The result is set through psychometric analysis and reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

What happens if I do not pass the first time?

You get up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Our training and practice materials are built to prepare you for a first-time pass, and re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts.

Where can I take the PMI-RMP exam in Bangkok?

You can sit it at a Pearson VUE test centre in Bangkok or take it online via OnVUE proctoring from home or office, within your one-year eligibility window, whichever suits you best.

    Course Content

Can a beginner take PMI-RMP training?

The training welcomes anyone building risk skills, but to sit the exam PMI requires project risk management experience plus 30 to 40 hours of risk education, which this programme provides. Our trainers support you throughout.

What topics does the PMI-RMP training cover?

It covers all five ECO domains: risk strategy and planning, risk identification, risk analysis, risk response, and monitoring and closing risks, across predictive, agile and hybrid environments.

Does the training satisfy the PMI education requirement?

Yes. The 32 contact hours fully satisfy the 30-hour risk education requirement for Set B and Set C applicants. Set A applicants need 40 hours and should add at least 8 more hours of study.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions mapped to the exam, full-length mock exams, quizzes and templates, plus references to the PMI-RMP ECO and Handbook to guide your revision.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest exam?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022 and the PMI Practice Standard for Project Risk Management.

How soon can I start and how do I enrol?

You can enrol on the Invensis Learning website in minutes. Choose live virtual, classroom or corporate training, complete payment, and receive access to schedules and courseware. See upcoming batches or talk to an advisor.

What are the eligibility requirements to apply for the exam?

PMI offers three sets: Set A (secondary diploma, 36 months risk experience, 40 hours education), Set B (degree, 24 months, 30 hours) or Set C (GAC-accredited degree, 12 months, 30 hours), all within the last five years.

What training formats are available in Bangkok?

We offer live virtual (online) instructor-led training, classroom sessions and customised corporate group training, so you can pick the format that fits your schedule and learning style.

Can I reschedule or transfer to another batch?
