What You Gain from Getting PMI-CP CertifiedA Credential Built for Construction

    For Individuals

    For Individuals

PMI-CP training helps construction professionals prove specialist delivery skill and prepare for the PMI-CP exam. The credential suits project managers, site managers, project engineers and owner's representatives who want a construction-specific certification, not just a general project management qualification. Whether you are moving from site engineering into project management, or leading building, civil or energy works across Senegal, this training builds capability aligned with what international and public-sector employers now expect.

If you want to lead complex construction projects with a globally recognised credential, PMI-CP is a clear step forward. You gain command of contracts, stakeholders, scope and governance, plus guidance on the four mandatory PMI modules and the exam application.

    • Proves construction-specific project management skill that a general credential cannot
    • Positions you for senior project manager, contracts manager and project director roles
    • Builds mastery of construction contracts, claims and variations, the field's costliest risks
    • Earns a globally recognised PMI credential valued on international and donor-funded projects
    • Strengthens stakeholder engagement across owners, regulators and communities
    • Opens doors on Senegal's rail, port, energy and building megaprojects
    • Adds 56 PDUs from the four PMI modules toward future certification renewals
    For Organizations

    For Organizations

PMI-CP group training helps construction and infrastructure organisations raise delivery capability by equipping project teams with structured contract, stakeholder and governance skills. It can be delivered for site teams, project management offices or leadership groups. For employers running rail, road, port, energy or building programmes, this training creates a shared, PMI-aligned way of governing contracts and controlling risk across projects.

If your teams face contract disputes, scope creep or stakeholder friction on large builds, PMI-CP training gives them a common construction delivery framework. Teams gain a standardised approach to contracts, claims, scope and governance that protects value and schedule.

    • Standardises construction contract and risk practice across project teams
    • Reduces claims, disputes and variation-order leakage on capital projects
    • Builds a common governance language for owners, contractors and consultants
    • Aligns delivery teams to PMI's globally recognised construction standards
    • Supports bids on donor-funded and international infrastructure programmes
    • Improves stakeholder and regulatory management on complex builds
    • Develops in-house capability to deliver on time and on budget

Construction Pressures Fuelling PMI-CP Demand in Senegal

    Contract and Claims Complexity

Senegal's megaprojects run on international, donor and PPP contracts where delay, variation and claims disputes drain value. PMI-CP's 50 percent contracts focus targets exactly this gap.

PMI-CP builds contract and claims skills

    Rapid Infrastructure Pipeline

With USD 837m for transport in 2026 alone and the Port of Ndayane completing, owners need leaders who can govern many concurrent packages to global standards.

    PMI-CP builds multi-project governance skills

    Multi-Stakeholder Coordination

Rail, road and port builds involve owners, regulators, financiers and communities. Weak stakeholder engagement stalls approvals, and it is a core PMI-CP domain.

    PMI-CP builds stakeholder engagement skills

    Shortage of Certified Construction Leaders

Senegal has skilled engineers but few professionals holding a globally recognised construction PM credential, making PMI-CP holders rare and sought-after.

PMI-CP makes certified leaders stand out

    Global and Donor-Funded Standards

World Bank, AfDB and other financiers expect PMI-grade governance and reporting. Certified leaders help contractors win and deliver these programmes.

    2026 Deadline Pressure

The Dakar Youth Olympic Games and flagship transport deadlines demand tight schedule, budget and quality control that structured PMI-CP practice supports.

    Your Senegal Career Transformation

From Site Delivery to Construction Leadership

    The Shift PMI-CP Delivers

Senegal's construction market is expanding fast with rail, road, port and energy investment, and employers increasingly separate certified construction leaders from the rest. Here is which side of that line you want to be on.

    Today

Pay capped with limited leverage in the Senegalese market

    After PMI-CP

Construction project manager roles average around FCFA 6.5M, with senior bands far higher

    Today

Passed over for roles that list a construction PM credential as preferred

    After PMI-CP

Eligible for senior roles across transport, energy, building and PPP projects

    Today

Confident on delivery, but employers want contract and governance depth

    After PMI-CP

Fluent in governing contracts, scope and stakeholders to PMI standards

    You earn your PMI-CP

    Before

Authority on site rests on experience, not a recognised construction credential

    Now you have

A globally recognised PMI credential built for construction delivery

    Before

Strong on site, but contract and claims exposure is handled reactively

    Now you have

Command of construction contracts, variations and claims, the field's biggest risks

    Before

Delivery focused, with limited say in governance and stakeholder decisions

    Now you have

The governance and stakeholder skills owners and financiers expect

    Before

Recognition fades when you move employer, sector or country

    Now you have

A credential that travels across international and donor-funded projects

"On Senegal's biggest builds, the gap between running a site and leading a project is increasingly a recognised credential, and the owners that matter already know it."

How to Get PMI-CP Certified in SenegalStep-by-Step Certification Process

The PMI-CP (PMI Construction Professional) certification path in Senegal is a structured single-exam track. Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

PMI-CP is PMI's specialist construction credential, validating your ability to deliver construction projects across four domains: Contracts Management, Stakeholder Engagement, Strategy and Scope Management, and Project Governance. It suits construction project managers, site leaders, project engineers and owner's representatives in Senegal.

    General

What is the PMI-CP certification and who is it for?

PMI-CP is PMI's specialist construction credential, validating your ability to deliver construction projects across four domains: Contracts Management, Stakeholder Engagement, Strategy and Scope Management, and Project Governance. It suits construction project managers, site leaders, project engineers and owner's representatives in Senegal.

Is the PMI-CP worth it for construction professionals in Senegal?

Yes. As Senegal invests heavily in rail, road, port and energy projects, employers increasingly seek leaders who can govern contracts and stakeholders to global standards. PMI-CP is recognised on international and donor-funded programmes and opens senior construction roles.

Do I need PMP before taking the PMI-CP?

No. PMP is not a prerequisite for PMI-CP. You can apply based on your construction experience and education. The two are complementary, with PMP validating general project management and PMI-CP validating construction-specific expertise.

What standard is the PMI-CP based on?

The exam is based on the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline (ECO), which draws on the PMBOK Guide and construction industry practices. It covers four domains, with Contracts Management weighted heaviest at 50 percent.

How long is the PMI-CP valid and how do I renew it?

PMI-CP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year cycle, with a minimum of 8 PDUs in each area, reported through PMI's continuing certification requirements system.

    Pricing

How much does PMI-CP training cost in Senegal?

PMI-CP training fees vary by format and are available on request. The fee covers courseware, practice questions and application guidance. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI. Request a quote to see current pricing and batches.

What is included in the PMI-CP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions and mock assessments, guidance on the four mandatory PMI modules and the exam application, learner support, and a course completion certificate with contact hours.

How much is the PMI-CP exam fee?

For reference, the PMI-CP exam is around USD 520 for PMI members and USD 670 for non-members, billed separately by PMI and subject to change. PMI membership, around USD 139 per year, reduces the exam cost. Confirm current fees at pmi.org.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for construction and infrastructure teams. Contact us for a tailored group quote for your organisation.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-CP exam?

The PMI-CP exam has 120 questions to be completed in 230 minutes. It is closed book with single-answer and multiple-answer multiple-choice questions, delivered via Pearson VUE online proctoring or at a test centre.

What are the four PMI-CP exam domains and their weights?

The four domains are Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%), as set out in the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline.

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score, so there is no fixed percentage. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement.

How many attempts do I get for the PMI-CP exam?

You get up to three attempts within a one-year eligibility period from the date your application is approved. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMI-CP?

You must complete all four mandatory self-paced PMI modules and meet one experience set: Set A (secondary diploma plus 60 months construction PM experience), Set B (bachelor's plus 36 months), or Set C (GAC-accredited degree plus 24 months), each with 35 contact hours of PM education.

Does this training meet the 35 contact hours requirement?

The instructor-led programme provides 32 contact hours, which is close to but below the 35 contact hours of PM education PMI requires. Check with our team whether supplementary self-study is credited toward the 35-hour requirement.

    Course Content

What topics does the PMI-CP training cover?

The training covers all four ECO domains: Contracts Management, Stakeholder Engagement, Strategy and Scope Management, and Project Governance, plus guidance on the four mandatory PMI modules and exam strategy.

What are the four mandatory PMI-CP modules?

Before applying, you complete four self-paced modules in any order: Project Communications, Interface Management, Scope and Change Order Management, and Contract and Risk Management. Each awards 14 PDUs, for 56 PDUs in total.

Do I need construction experience to benefit from the course?

The training is designed for construction practitioners, and PMI-CP eligibility requires construction project management experience. If you work on building, civil or infrastructure projects, the content maps directly to your day-to-day delivery.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions mapped to the 120-question exam format, references to the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and Handbook, and topic-wise quizzes to strengthen weak areas.

Is the courseware aligned to the current exam outline?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and the PMBOK Guide, so your preparation reflects the domains and weightings you will meet on exam day.

How do I enrol in the PMI-CP course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor if you need help choosing.
