Market Forces Driving Demand for Business Analysts in Senegal

    Digital Transformation Backlog

Banks, telecoms and public agencies in Senegal are digitising fast, but many projects lack analysts who can define what the business actually needs, the exact gap certified analysts fill.

Business analysis turns change ideas into clear requirements

    Strategy-Execution Gap

Programmes get funded but poorly scoped, causing value leakage. Skilled business analysts align solutions to strategy, prioritise requirements and keep delivery focused on outcomes.

Practitioner skills connect strategy to funded work

    Scarce Certified BA Talent

Senegal has deep IT and delivery talent but few formally certified business analysts. BCS-quality-assured credentials make holders rare and sought-after by serious employers.

A recognised credential makes analysts stand out

    Regulatory and Compliance Change

BCEAO and WAEMU rules push banks and insurers to redesign processes. Analysts who can model as-is and to-be operations make regulatory change faster and safer to deliver.

Analysts model processes for compliant change

    Mobile Money and Fintech Growth

And Where This Certification Takes You

    Today

Shortlisted less often for roles that list a BA credential as preferred

    After certification

Eligible for analysis roles across telecom, banking, public sector and consulting

    Today

Confident in delivery, but employers want formal analysis capability

    After certification

Fluent in turning business needs into clear requirements and justified solutions

    You earn both credentials

    Before

Business analysis skills that rest on experience alone, with no formal proof

    Now you have

Two BCS-quality-assured credentials recognised by leading Senegalese and global employers

    Before

Stuck in an IT or delivery role with no recognised analysis mandate

    Now you have

A clear route into analyst, systems analyst and requirements engineer roles

    Before

Delivery focused, with limited command of formal analysis methods

    Now you have

Applied technique in elicitation, modelling, stakeholder and business case work

    Before

Recognition that fades when you change sector or employer

    Now you have

A lifetime credential that travels across sectors, employers and borders

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

It is a combined, two-level programme leading to the EXIN BCS Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis and the EXIN BCS Practitioner Certificate in Business Analysis Practice. Both are governed by EXIN in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, and aligned to the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge.

    General

What is the Business Analysis Foundation and Practitioner certification?

It is a combined, two-level programme leading to the EXIN BCS Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis and the EXIN BCS Practitioner Certificate in Business Analysis Practice. Both are governed by EXIN in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, and aligned to the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge.

Is the business analysis certification worth it in Senegal?

Yes. As banks, telecoms and public agencies in Senegal accelerate digital change, certified analysts who turn needs into clear requirements are in demand. Business Analyst roles in Dakar average around FCFA 5.7M per year, with senior roles reaching higher.

Who should take this business analysis course?

It suits aspiring business analysts, IT and project professionals moving into analysis, product owners, and practising analysts who want formal, recognised credentials. The Foundation level has no prerequisites, so it is open to those new to the field.

    Is the certification recognised internationally?

Yes. EXIN operates in over 165 countries and BCS is the UK's chartered professional body for IT. The combined credential has strong recognition across the UK, Commonwealth, Europe, Africa and the Middle East, including Senegal.

How long are the certifications valid?

Both the Foundation and Practitioner certifications are for lifetime. Neither credential expires, and there is no renewal, re-examination or continuing education requirement once you have passed.

    Pricing

What is included in the course fee?

The training fee typically includes BCS-aligned courseware, industry case studies, mock exams for both levels, learner support, and guidance to prepare for the Foundation and Practitioner exams. Request a quote for exact inclusions and current pricing.

How much does the business analysis training cost in Senegal?

Pricing varies by delivery format and whether exam vouchers are bundled. EXIN exam pricing also varies by region and purchasing channel. Contact a learning advisor for a tailored quote for individuals or teams in Senegal.

Are the exam vouchers included in the price?

Exam vouchers are often included in accredited training packages for the combined programme, but this varies by plan. Confirm whether the Foundation and Practitioner vouchers are bundled when you request your quote.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for IT teams, PMOs and change functions. Ask about corporate or group pricing for your organisation.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

How many exams are there and what is the format?

There are two separate exams. The Foundation exam has 40 single-answer multiple-choice questions; the Practitioner exam has 40 scenario-based multiple-choice questions. Both are closed book, 60 minutes long, and must be passed to hold both credentials.

What is the passing score for each exam?

The passing score is 65% for both exams, which is 26 out of 40 questions correct on the Foundation exam and 26 out of 40 on the Practitioner exam.

What are the prerequisites for each level?

The Foundation level has no formal prerequisites and is open to all. The EXIN BCS Foundation Certificate is the recommended prerequisite for the Practitioner level, which tests applied skills in project scenarios.

Where can I sit the EXIN BCS exams?

You can take both exams online through EXIN's online proctored system or at an EXIN accredited testing location. They are usually arranged through your accredited training provider as part of the combined programme.

How do the Foundation and Practitioner exams differ?

Foundation tests knowledge and comprehension of business analysis concepts across 14 topic areas using single-answer questions. Practitioner tests application and analysis across 7 topic areas using scenario-based questions that present realistic project situations.

    Course Content

What topics does the course cover?

Foundation covers 14 topic areas including investigation techniques, stakeholder analysis, process and requirements modelling, and business cases. Practitioner covers 7 applied areas such as strategic context, current situation analysis, solution options and business case building.

What will I learn to do in this course?

You will learn to elicit and prioritise requirements, investigate the business situation, model processes with BPMN, manage stakeholders, analyse strategy with PESTLE and SWOT, and build business cases using NPV, ROI and payback analysis.

Which standard is the course based on?

The course is aligned to the official EXIN BCS Examination Specifications for both levels, which are developed in partnership with BCS and based on the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge.

Do I need prior experience to start?

No prior experience is required for the Foundation level, making the course beginner-friendly. The Practitioner level builds on Foundation knowledge and suits those who will apply analysis techniques in real project work.

Are practice materials and mock exams provided?

Yes. The programme includes industry case studies and practice questions aligned to both the Foundation and Practitioner exam formats, so you can identify weak areas and build readiness for both levels.

    Enrollment

How do I enrol in the course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor if you need help choosing.

What training formats are available in Senegal?

We offer live virtual instructor-led training, onsite classroom sessions and customised corporate group training, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule and team. Live virtual sessions are accessible across Senegal.
