How long is the DevOps Foundation certification valid?

What is the format of the DevOps Foundation exam?

The DevOps Foundation exam is closed book with single-answer multiple-choice questions, based on the DevOps Foundation Exam Blueprint. It is delivered online via PeopleCert OnVUE proctoring or at an authorised test centre.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 40 questions and a duration of 60 minutes (1 hour). It is a closed-book, single-answer multiple-choice format.

What is the passing score for DevOps Foundation?

You need 65% to pass, which is 26 out of 40 questions answered correctly. Our mock exams and practice questions help you build readiness across all six topic areas.

What if I do not pass the exam on the first attempt?

Are there any prerequisites for the exam?

No. DevOps Foundation has no formal prerequisites and is open to all, regardless of education, experience or prior DevOps knowledge. Familiarity with basic IT concepts is helpful but not required.

What topics does the DevOps Foundation course cover?

The course covers six topic areas: DevOps Foundations, DevOps Concepts and Practices, Agile/ITSM/Lean IT, the DevOps Continuous Delivery Pipeline, Automation and Tooling, and DevOps Culture and Organisation, all aligned to the DevOps Institute Exam Blueprint.

Do I need prior experience to follow the course?

No prior DevOps experience is needed. The course is designed to be accessible to IT and business professionals at any stage, building concepts from the ground up with practical examples and case studies.

What are the Three Ways and CALMS covered in the course?

The Three Ways are Flow, Feedback, and Continual Learning and Experimentation. CALMS stands for Culture, Automation, Lean, Measurement and Sharing. Both are core frameworks in the DevOps Foundation Body of Knowledge and are covered in detail.

How long is the DevOps Foundation training?

The programme runs for 16 hours of instructor-led training, typically delivered as two full days or four half-days, covering all six exam topic areas and exam preparation.
