It validates your ability to apply agile approaches across Scrum, Kanban, Lean, Extreme Programming (XP) and Test-Driven Development rather than a single method. Awarded by the Project Management Institute (PMI), the credential is built on the PMI-ACP Examination Content Outline (ECO) published in January 2018, which defines seven agile domains from Agile Principles and Mindset through to Continuous Improvement. The exam is a closed-book, 120-question paper sat over three hours through Pearson VUE, and the credential is recognised by employers across more than 200 countries. For professionals in San Juan and across Puerto Rico, agile skill is in demand as fintech leaders, pharmaceutical manufacturers and global tech employers scale iterative delivery. Why Puerto Rico Employers Need Certified Agile Talent

    Agile Talent Shortage

Puerto Rico's project workforce is deep in traditional managers but thin in certified agile practitioners, leaving fintech and tech employers competing for scarce Scrum and Kanban skills.

PMI-ACP makes certified agile practitioners stand out

    Fintech Delivery Pressure

Payment leaders such as Evertec and Banco Popular serve dozens of Caribbean and Latin American markets, demanding fast, iterative product delivery that only disciplined agile teams sustain.

    PMI-ACP builds value-driven delivery skills

    Pharma Digital Transformation

Pharmaceutical and medical-device plants are digitising lab, quality and supply systems, and increasingly run these initiatives with agile approaches rather than rigid waterfall plans.

    PMI-ACP builds adaptive planning skills

    Cross-Framework Complexity

Teams juggle Scrum, Kanban, Lean and hybrid delivery at once, so employers value practitioners proven across several agile approaches rather than a single framework.

    PMI-ACP proves multi-framework capability

    Federal Programme Scale

Recovery and modernisation programmes funded by federal investment need predictable, adaptive delivery, raising demand for practitioners who manage change and surface risk early.

PMI-ACP builds problem-detection and risk skills

    Value-Leakage Risk

Boards fund digital initiatives, but weak agile discipline causes rework and value leakage, so practitioners who deliver working increments and refine flow are sought after.

    PMI-ACP builds continuous-improvement skills

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-ACP exam?

The PMI-ACP exam is a closed-book, computer-based test of 120 multiple-choice questions taken over three hours. It is based on the PMI-ACP Examination Content Outline (January 2018) and spans seven agile domains, delivered via Pearson VUE online proctoring or a test centre.

How many questions are on the PMI-ACP exam?

The exam has 120 questions and you have three hours to complete it. Questions are distributed across the seven agile domains defined in the PMI-ACP Examination Content Outline, from Agile Principles and Mindset to Continuous Improvement.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMI-ACP exam?

You need a secondary degree, 2,000 hours of general project experience within the last five years, 1,500 hours of agile project experience within the last three years, and 21 contact hours of agile training. PMP or PgMP holders already meet the general project experience requirement.

What is the passing score for the PMI-ACP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score rather than a fixed percentage. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all seven domains.

What happens if I do not pass the first time?

You are allowed up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility window from application approval. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our mock exams and trainer support are designed to help you pass on your first attempt.

    Course Content

What topics are covered in the PMI-ACP training?

The training covers all seven PMI-ACP domains: Agile Principles and Mindset, Value-Driven Delivery, Stakeholder Engagement, Team Performance, Adaptive Planning, Problem Detection and Resolution, and Continuous Improvement, across Scrum, Kanban, Lean, XP and TDD.

Do I need prior agile experience to take this course?

Some agile exposure helps, and the exam itself requires documented agile experience. Anyone can attend the training, which builds structured, practical knowledge and is well suited to Scrum Masters, product owners and project managers moving into agile delivery.

Which agile frameworks does the course cover?

The course spans multiple frameworks, including Scrum, Kanban, Lean, Extreme Programming (XP) and Test-Driven Development, along with tools such as story points, velocity tracking, burndown charts and retrospectives. This breadth is what sets PMI-ACP apart from single-framework credentials.

Is the courseware aligned with the current PMI-ACP outline?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the PMI-ACP Examination Content Outline published in January 2018, which remains the current outline, and draws on the PMI Agile Practice Guide and other recognised agile references.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams and an exam simulator aligned to the 120-question, three-hour format, helping you identify weak areas and build exam readiness before you sit the real test.

    Enrollment

How soon can I start and how do I enrol?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website, choose your preferred format, and get access to schedules and courseware. Live online batches run regularly for Puerto Rico learners. See upcoming schedules or talk to a learning advisor to get started.

    What training formats are available?

We offer live online (live virtual) instructor-led training, classroom sessions and customised corporate group training, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule and learning style across Puerto Rico.

Does the training satisfy the 21 contact hours PMI requires?

Yes. The programme provides 24 contact hours of agile training, which exceeds and fully satisfies PMI's 21 contact hours prerequisite for the PMI-ACP application.

Can I reschedule or transfer my enrolment?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch, and selected plans let you attend the training twice. Contact our support team to arrange this before your batch begins.

What is the refund or cancellation policy?

Refunds and cancellations follow our published policy, and selected plans include a money-back guarantee. Reach out to our team for the details that apply to your enrolment.
