The PMP is a broader project management credential covering predictive, agile and hybrid delivery, while the PMI-ACP is agile-specific and spans multiple frameworks in depth. Many professionals hold both, using the PMI-ACP to complement the PMP in agile or hybrid work.

How long is the PMI-ACP valid and how do I renew it?

The PMI-ACP is valid for three years from the date of certification. To maintain it, you earn 30 professional development units (PDUs) in agile topics within each three-year cycle and report them through PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) system.

How much does PMI-ACP training cost in Oman?

For reference only, PMI charges around USD 435 for members and USD 495 for non-members; actual fees may vary, so verify current rates at pmi.org. PMI membership of roughly USD 139 per year can reduce the exam fee and unlocks free resources such as the Agile Practice Guide.

What is the format of the PMI-ACP exam?

The PMI-ACP exam is closed book with multiple-choice questions, based on the PMI-ACP Examination Content Outline published in January 2018. It is delivered online with Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre, with questions spread across seven agile domains.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 120 questions and you have 3 hours to complete it. Questions are distributed across the seven agile domains defined in the current Examination Content Outline.

What is the passing score for the PMI-ACP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all seven domains.

What if I do not pass the exam the first time?

You are allowed up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility period from the date your application is approved. Our exam preparation, mock tests and post-training support are designed to help you pass on your first attempt.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMI-ACP?

You need a secondary degree, 2,000 hours of general project experience within the last five years, 1,500 hours of agile experience within the last three years, and 21 contact hours of agile training. PMP or PgMP holders already meet the general project experience requirement.

Can a beginner take this course or do I need experience?

Anyone can attend the training to build agile knowledge and earn the required contact hours. To sit the exam, PMI requires documented general project and agile experience, so the course also helps you plan your application while you build skills.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams, an exam simulator and topic-wise quizzes aligned to the 120-question, 3-hour format, helping you identify weak areas and build readiness.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest PMI-ACP syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PMI-ACP Examination Content Outline, published January 2018, and draws on the PMI Agile Practice Guide and other recognised agile references.
