Market Forces Driving SIAM Demand in New Zealand

    Fragmented Multi-Vendor Delivery

New Zealand organisations increasingly split IT across cloud, telco and managed-service providers, but many lack an integration layer to hold them to one end-to-end outcome, the exact gap SIAM is built to close.

    SIAM-P builds cross-provider governance skills

    All-Of-Government Cloud Transition

With the C3 cloud and common-capability agreements renewing from late 2026 and a new Marketplace live, agencies need service integrators who can govern a changing panel of approved suppliers.

SIAM-P builds sourcing and integration skills

    Service Integration Skills Shortage

New Zealand's IT talent pool is deep in project and support roles but thin in credentialed service integration leaders, making advanced SIAM holders rare and highly sought after by employers.

SIAM-P makes certified integrators stand out

    Cyber and Governance Pressure

The Cyber Security Strategy 2026-2030 and rising assurance expectations push organisations to prove accountability across every supplier, which SIAM governance and cross-provider risk practices directly support.

SIAM-P builds risk and assurance skills

    Cost and Value Accountability

Tight public and private budgets push leaders to prove value from multiple vendors, retiring low-value work and holding the ecosystem to measurable end-to-end performance.

SIAM-P builds performance and value skills

    Cloud First Complexity

Multi-cloud growth under the Cloud First policy multiplies tools, data standards and hand-offs, demanding the tooling architecture and process-integration decisions SIAM Professional teaches.

    General

Is the SIAM Professional certification worth it in New Zealand?

Yes. SIAM Professional validates advanced service integration capability, which New Zealand government, banking, telco and managed-service employers increasingly seek as they move to multi-vendor delivery. Related roles such as IT Service Integration Manager average around NZ$146,000, and the lifetime EXIN credential travels across sectors.

What is the EXIN SIAM Professional certification?

EXIN SIAM Professional (SIAM-P) is the advanced-level credential in the EXIN SIAM scheme. It validates the ability to apply Service Integration and Management in complex multi-supplier environments and uses a scenario-based exam. It is awarded by EXIN and based on the Scopism SIAM Body of Knowledge.

Who should take SIAM Professional training?

It suits experienced ITSM professionals responsible for multi-supplier delivery, including IT service managers, service integration leads, vendor and sourcing managers, and consultants who design SIAM models. EXIN SIAM Foundation is the recommended prerequisite.

Is SIAM Professional the highest EXIN SIAM level?

Yes. SIAM Professional is the second and highest level in the EXIN SIAM scheme, above SIAM Foundation. There is no further EXIN SIAM credential above Professional level.

How long is the SIAM Professional certification valid?

The certification is valid for lifetime. It does not expire, and no renewal, re-examination or continuing education is required to keep it.

    Pricing

How much does SIAM Professional training cost in New Zealand?

Training is usually purchased as a combined training and exam package, and pricing varies by format and delivery mode, so it is available on request. Request a quote and a learning advisor will share current options for New Zealand.

What is included in the SIAM Professional course fee?

The fee typically includes accredited courseware aligned to the EXIN specification, scenario-based practice, mock exercises, learner support and, in most packages, the EXIN exam voucher. Confirm exam inclusion when you request your quote.

Is the EXIN exam fee included in the training price?

It depends on the package. The exam is often bundled into an accredited training and exam package, but pricing varies by region and channel. Ask your advisor whether the EXIN exam voucher is included in your selected plan.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for service management and PMO teams. Contact us for a tailored group quote for your organisation.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the SIAM Professional exam?

It is a closed-book, scenario-based examination. Each question presents a complex multi-supplier scenario with multiple options, and you select the best course of action. It is delivered online with proctoring or at an EXIN accredited test location.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 40 scenario-based questions and lasts 90 minutes (1.5 hours). It is based on the EXIN SIAM Professional Examination Specification.

What is the passing score for the SIAM Professional exam?

The pass mark is 65 percent, so you must answer at least 26 of the 40 questions correctly to pass.

Do I need SIAM Foundation before SIAM Professional?

EXIN SIAM Foundation is the recommended prerequisite. There is no formal education or work-experience requirement stated by EXIN, but the credential is designed for experienced ITSM professionals, and Foundation-level knowledge is assumed.

What if I do not pass the exam the first time?

You can re-sit the EXIN exam. Our scenario-based practice, mock exercises and trainer guidance are designed to build first-time readiness, and support continues after the course. Re-sit policy and fees are confirmed via EXIN.

    Course Content

What topics does the SIAM Professional training cover?

The training covers the five EXIN topic areas: Discovery and Strategy, Plan and Build, Implement, Run and Improve, and SIAM Practices Across the Stages, each weighted around 20 percent, plus scenario-based exam strategy.

Which standard is the courseware aligned to?

The courseware follows the EXIN SIAM Professional Examination Specification and the SIAM Body of Knowledge (SIAM BoK) published by Scopism, so you study to the current, authoritative reference for the credential.

Can a SIAM Foundation holder take this course?

Yes, and it is the ideal next step. The programme builds on Foundation knowledge and takes it to application and analysis level. Practical multi-supplier experience helps you interpret the scenario-based questions.

How long is the SIAM Professional training?

The programme runs for 16 hours, typically delivered over two full days or four half-days. It consolidates advanced SIAM knowledge and prepares you for the scenario-based EXIN exam.

Are practice scenarios and mock exercises included?

Yes. You practise with complex organisational scenarios that mirror the 40-question exam, so you get used to selecting the best course of action rather than a single textbook answer.

How soon can I start and how do I enrol?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website, choose your format and complete payment to get access to schedules and courseware. New batches run regularly across New Zealand time zones. See upcoming schedules or talk to a learning advisor.

    What training formats are available?

We offer live online (live virtual) instructor-led training, classroom sessions, and customised corporate group training, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule and team.

Where can I take the EXIN exam in New Zealand?

You can sit the exam online through EXIN's proctored system from home or office, or at an EXIN accredited test location. It is usually arranged through your accredited training and exam package.

Can I reschedule or transfer my enrolment?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch on selected plans. Contact support to arrange a change that suits you.

What is the refund or cancellation policy?
