What You Gain from DFSS TrainingSkills You Apply on Live Projects

    For Individuals

    For Individuals

Design for Six Sigma training gives engineers and quality professionals a structured way to design quality in rather than inspect it out. You leave able to run a DMADV project end to end, from capturing customer needs to verifying a finished design. Whether you design cashmere garments, food and beverage lines, mining process equipment or consumer products, the tools apply directly to the work in front of you.

If you already understand DMAIC and want its design counterpart, DFSS is the natural next step. You gain a practical toolkit - VOC, Kano, CTQ flow-down, QFD, DFMEA and robust design - that you can use on your next new product or process from day one.

    • Design products and processes that meet customer needs the first time
    • Apply the full DMADV roadmap to real product and process design work
    • Turn voice of the customer into measurable, testable CTQs
    • Use QFD, DFMEA and Pugh selection to remove design risk early
    • Build robust designs that hold up against real-world variation
    • Cut costly late redesigns, rework and warranty claims

    • Bridge the gap between Six Sigma theory and day-to-day engineering
    For Organizations

    For Organizations

Group Design for Six Sigma training helps organisations build a common design-quality discipline across product development, engineering and quality functions. Teams learn to apply the same DMADV method and tools to their own live projects. For manufacturers and processors under pressure to improve first-pass quality and reduce rework, the training offers a scalable, practical route to design excellence.

When product development, quality and manufacturing teams share one DFSS language, design decisions become traceable to customer requirements. That shared method reduces late-stage surprises and helps new products launch closer to target.

    • Design quality into new products before defects reach customers
    • Standardise DFSS practice across engineering and quality teams
    • Reduce development iterations, rework and time to market

Why Design-Quality Skills Are in Demand in Mongolia

    Export Quality Pressure

Mongolia supplies around a third of the world's cashmere, and exporters must design consistent quality into every product line to hold margins and pass buyer approval.

DFSS builds voice-of-customer and CTQ skills

    Mineral-Processing Consistency

Copper, coal and gold processing plants need designs that perform reliably despite variation, exactly the robustness that DFSS and Taguchi methods are built to deliver.

DFSS builds robust design and verification skills

    Import-Substitution Manufacturing

As Mongolia grows local manufacturing to reduce imports, new product and process designs must be right first time, making structured design-quality skills essential.

    DFSS builds design-for-manufacturability skills

    ISO and ESG Compliance

ISO 9001 design controls and the 2026 minerals-law ESG requirements demand documented, traceable design decisions, which the DMADV method and DFMEA support directly.

    DFSS strengthens design-control capability

    Design-Quality Talent Scarcity

Mongolia's engineering pool is strong on operations but thin on structured design-quality skills, so professionals fluent in DFSS tools are rare and in demand.

DFSS makes skilled designers stand out

    Rework and Warranty Costs

Fixing defects after launch costs far more than designing them out, and manufacturers under margin pressure increasingly value engineers who can prevent that cost.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) is a proactive Six Sigma methodology for designing new products, services and processes that meet customer requirements and reach Six Sigma quality from the outset. It suits product and design engineers, R&D professionals, quality engineers, NPD managers and Six Sigma practitioners who want to design quality in rather than fix defects later.

DMAIC improves existing processes that are underperforming, while DFSS designs new products, services or processes correctly from the start. This training covers DFSS using the DMADV roadmap - Define, Measure, Analyse, Design, Verify. Organisations typically use both: DMAIC to improve what exists and DFSS to design what is new.

Yes. As Mongolia's cashmere, food, mining and manufacturing sectors compete on consistent quality and adopt ISO standards, professionals who can design quality in are in demand. DFSS skills apply directly to new product and process design and help reduce rework, warranty costs and late redesigns.

No. There are no formal prerequisites. Familiarity with basic Six Sigma concepts such as CTQ, DMAIC and variation is helpful but not required. The training introduces all DFSS-specific tools and the DMADV methodology from first principles.

The course follows the DMADV roadmap, the most widely used DFSS framework, alongside core tools including voice of the customer, the Kano model, CTQ flow-down, Quality Function Deployment, the Pugh matrix, Design FMEA and robust design. It also introduces alternative frameworks such as IDOV and DMADOV.

    General

What is Design for Six Sigma and who is it for?

Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) is a proactive Six Sigma methodology for designing new products, services and processes that meet customer requirements and reach Six Sigma quality from the outset. It suits product and design engineers, R&D professionals, quality engineers, NPD managers and Six Sigma practitioners who want to design quality in rather than fix defects later.

How is DFSS different from DMAIC?

DMAIC improves existing processes that are underperforming, while DFSS designs new products, services or processes correctly from the start. This training covers DFSS using the DMADV roadmap - Define, Measure, Analyse, Design, Verify. Organisations typically use both: DMAIC to improve what exists and DFSS to design what is new.

Is Design for Six Sigma training worth it in Mongolia?

Yes. As Mongolia's cashmere, food, mining and manufacturing sectors compete on consistent quality and adopt ISO standards, professionals who can design quality in are in demand. DFSS skills apply directly to new product and process design and help reduce rework, warranty costs and late redesigns.

Do I need prior Six Sigma knowledge to attend?

No. There are no formal prerequisites. Familiarity with basic Six Sigma concepts such as CTQ, DMAIC and variation is helpful but not required. The training introduces all DFSS-specific tools and the DMADV methodology from first principles.

What methodology does the course follow?

The course follows the DMADV roadmap, the most widely used DFSS framework, alongside core tools including voice of the customer, the Kano model, CTQ flow-down, Quality Function Deployment, the Pugh matrix, Design FMEA and robust design. It also introduces alternative frameworks such as IDOV and DMADOV.

    Pricing

How much does Design for Six Sigma training cost in Mongolia?

Fees vary by delivery mode (live virtual, classroom or corporate), group size and schedule, so pricing is available on request. Contact a learning advisor for a current quote tailored to individual or team enrolment.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led training across all six DFSS modules, hands-on tool exercises, structured courseware and learning resources, learner support, and a course completion record from Invensis Learning. Request a quote for the full inclusions on your chosen format.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for engineering, quality and product development teams. Ask about corporate or group pricing for a tailored quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

Are there any additional fees beyond the training?

No. This is a non-certification skills course with no examination or awarding-body fee, so there are no separate exam charges. The training fee covers the programme and its included resources. Request a quote for full details.

    Assessment

Is there an exam for Design for Six Sigma training?

No. This is a non-certification course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on DFSS tool exercises, case study examples and team discussion during the programme, so you apply the tools as you learn them.

Do I receive a certificate after the training?

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. No formal certification or credential is awarded by an external body, because this is a practical skills course focused on applying DFSS methodology and tools at work.

How is my learning reinforced without an exam?

Through applied practice. You work through realistic exercises in voice-of-customer to CTQ flow-down, QFD House of Quality construction, Pugh concept selection and Design FMEA, using case studies drawn from real product and process design scenarios.

Will I be able to apply DFSS at work afterwards?

Yes. After the training you can run a DMADV project, facilitate VOC workshops, build QFD matrices, conduct a DFMEA with RPN prioritisation, apply robust design thinking, and plan design verification and transfer, all skills that apply immediately to live projects.

Does the course cover Design of Experiments?

The training introduces Design of Experiments at an awareness level within the Design phase, showing how DOE helps identify influential control factors and optimise for robustness. Minitab Essentials training is the software complement for hands-on DOE analysis.

    Course Content

What topics does the DFSS training cover?

The programme covers all six DFSS modules: an introduction to DFSS and the DMADV roadmap, the Define phase (VOC, Kano, charter), the Measure phase (CTQ flow-down, QFD), the Analyse phase (concept selection, DFMEA), the Design phase (robust design, tolerancing, DFMA) and the Verify phase (verification, validation, design transfer).

How long is the Design for Six Sigma training?

The programme runs for one day (8 hours), covering all five DMADV phases with concept explanations, real-world design case studies and hands-on tool exercises throughout. It is also available in an extended two half-day format totalling the same 8 hours.

Can a beginner take this course?

Yes. The course introduces every DFSS tool and the DMADV methodology from first principles, so beginners can follow it. It is most impactful if you already understand DMAIC and want to learn its design counterpart, but no prior DFSS knowledge is assumed.
