What Is Value Stream Mapping and What Does It Deliver?UntitledA Practical Lean Skill for Moroccan Operations

Value Stream Mapping (VSM) training in Morocco teaches you to build a single visual map of the end-to-end flow of materials and information that brings a product or service to the customer. It is a hands-on Lean technique, rooted in the Toyota Production System and popularised by Mike Rother and John Shook in their 1998 classic Learning to See, and it remains the starting point for almost every Lean improvement programme. Over one focused day, you learn to walk a value stream, capture real process data, draw an accurate current-state map, expose the eight wastes of Lean (DOWNTIME) and design a leaner future state built on continuous flow and pull. This is a practical skills programme with no examination, so you finish able to apply the technique straight away. For operations managers, process engineers and Lean practitioners in Morocco's booming automotive, aerospace and manufacturing plants, VSM is one of the most useful capabilities you can build. Start with Invensis Learning and turn waste into flow.

What Value Stream Mapping Skills DeliverFor Individuals and Organisations

    For Individuals

    For Individuals

VSM training helps professionals build a practical improvement skill they can apply immediately at work. The programme suits operations and manufacturing managers, process and industrial engineers, Lean practitioners and supply chain professionals who want to make flow visible and improve it. Whether you are ramping up a new production line, reducing lead time on an existing one, or supporting a Lean transformation, the technique gives you a clear, structured way to diagnose and redesign the flow of value.

By the end of the day you can walk a value stream, capture the data that matters, draw both maps and defend a concrete improvement plan. It is a capability that travels across manufacturing, logistics, healthcare and services, and one Moroccan employers increasingly look for.

    • Map current-state and future-state value streams for your own operations with confidence
    • Spot the eight wastes of Lean and pinpoint the real bottleneck in any process flow
    • Calculate takt time, lead time and the value-added ratio to size the opportunity
    • Design leaner flow using continuous flow, pull systems and production levelling
    • Facilitate cross-functional VSM workshops that align operations, quality and logistics
    • Turn a future-state map into a prioritised Kaizen and implementation roadmap
    • Build an in-demand Lean skill valued across Morocco's automotive and aerospace industries
    For Organizations

    For Organizations

Group VSM training helps organisations build operational excellence capability by equipping cross-functional teams to map, analyse and improve their value streams together. It can be delivered for a single plant, a department or a wider improvement community. For businesses under pressure to cut cost, shorten lead time and compete on export markets, VSM offers a low-cost, high-impact way to see and remove waste.

When a team maps a real value stream together, they leave with a shared diagnosis and an agreed future state. That common language is what turns scattered improvement effort into a coordinated, prioritised programme across the organisation.

    • Give teams a shared visual language for improving end-to-end flow
    • Expose the waste and bottlenecks that raise cost and lengthen lead times
    • Align operations, quality, engineering and supply chain around one map
    • Convert improvement ideas into prioritised, measurable Kaizen roadmaps
    • Lift throughput and on-time delivery without new capital investment
    • Build internal VSM facilitation capability for self-sustaining improvement
    • Train cross-functional teams onsite at your Moroccan plant or office

The Pressures Making VSM Skills Essential in Morocco

    Automotive Nearshoring Ramp-Up

Stellantis Kenitra is scaling toward 535,000 vehicles a year and Renault is expanding near Tangier. Rapid ramp-ups demand tightly mapped, waste-free flow across plants and suppliers.

VSM builds current and future-state mapping skills

    Aerospace Local-Content Targets

Morocco is targeting MAD 53bn in aerospace turnover and 60% local content by 2030. Suppliers around Nouaceur must map and streamline complex, low-volume, high-mix flows to compete.

VSM builds flow and lead-time reduction skills

    Export Cost and Margin Pressure

Competing on European export markets depends on removing non-value-added activity. VSM exposes the inventory, waiting and overproduction that quietly erode margin and delivery.

VSM builds waste-elimination and optimisation skills

    Lean Facilitation Skills Gap

Morocco has deep engineering talent but few people who can facilitate value stream mapping across functions. Those who can lead current and future-state workshops are in short supply.

Skills You Will Build in This VSM TrainingPractical and Ready to Apply

In this Value Stream Mapping training you learn, hands-on, how to map, analyse and redesign the flow of value across your operations. Over one focused day you practise both current-state and future-state mapping on a realistic scenario, so you leave able to run VSM at work.

    Draw an Accurate Current-State Map

Select a product family, walk the value stream on a Gemba walk, and capture cycle time, changeover, uptime and inventory to build a true current-state map with standard VSM symbols.

See the Eight Wastes of Lean

Read a completed map to identify the eight wastes (DOWNTIME), find the real bottleneck, and analyse where material is pushed rather than pulled through the flow.

    Calculate Flow Metrics That Matter

Work out takt time, process lead time and the value-added ratio so you can size the improvement opportunity and prioritise where to act first.

    Design a Leaner Future State

Apply the eight future-state questions to design continuous flow, pull systems, supermarkets and a single pacemaker process that paces the value stream to customer demand.

Use the Standard VSM Symbol Set

Apply process and data boxes, material and information flow arrows, inventory triangles, kanban symbols and Kaizen bursts so any team can read and build the same map.

    Build an Implementation Roadmap

Translate a future-state map into prioritised Kaizen events and a time-based roadmap, then set metrics and standard work to sustain the improvement over time.

    What Our Learners Say

    Untitled

    Applied It the Same Week

"The hands-on mapping exercises made it click. I went back to our line near Tangier, ran a current-state map with my team the same week, and we spotted waiting and inventory waste we had lived with for years."

    A Real Method, Not Guesswork

"Clear, practical and well paced. Learning the standard symbols and the eight future-state questions gave me a real method instead of guesswork. Calculating takt time and the value-added ratio was the highlight for me."

    Accessible for Non-Lean Backgrounds

"As someone from operations rather than a Lean background, I found the trainer explained everything from the ground up. I can now read a value stream map and take part in improvement workshops with confidence."

A Shared Plan Across the Plant

"We ran the training onsite for a mixed team of operations, quality and logistics. Mapping one of our own value streams together gave everyone a shared diagnosis and a prioritised Kaizen plan we are now executing."

    General

What is the Value Stream Mapping (VSM) training?

Value Stream Mapping training is a one-day, practical skills programme that teaches you to create current-state and future-state value stream maps, identify waste and inefficiency, and build an actionable plan to improve the flow of value across your operations. It is a hands-on Lean technique with no examination.

Who should attend VSM training in Morocco?

The training suits operations and manufacturing managers, industrial and process engineers, Lean practitioners, supply chain managers and anyone improving end-to-end process flow. In Morocco it is especially relevant for professionals in automotive, aerospace, electronics and logistics operations.

Is Value Stream Mapping worth learning?

Yes. VSM is one of the most widely used Lean tools and the usual starting point for improvement programmes. It gives you a structured way to make waste visible and redesign flow, a skill that is in growing demand across Morocco's expanding automotive and aerospace plants.

Do I need prior Lean knowledge to attend?

No. There are no formal prerequisites. Some familiarity with Lean ideas such as waste, flow and pull is helpful, but the programme introduces every concept you need in the context of mapping, so people from all operational backgrounds can follow it.

Is Value Stream Mapping recognised by Moroccan employers?

    Pricing

How much does VSM training cost in Morocco?

Pricing varies by delivery mode, group size and whether you enrol as an individual or a corporate team, so the fee is available on request. Contact a learning advisor for a quote tailored to your needs.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically covers instructor-led delivery of all six VSM modules, structured courseware, worked examples, hands-on current and future-state mapping exercises, and a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. Ask your advisor for the exact inclusions of your chosen option.

Do you offer group or corporate rates?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for teams, plants and departments. It is often the most cost-effective option because a whole team maps a real value stream together. Ask about corporate pricing for a tailored quote.

Is there a separate exam fee?

No. Value Stream Mapping is a non-certification skills course with no examination, so there is no separate exam or awarding-body fee. You pay only the training fee for your chosen delivery format.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, and instalment options are available on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the arrangement that suits you or your organisation.

    Assessment

Is there an exam for VSM training?

No. This is a non-certification skills programme with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on mapping exercises and group discussion during the one-day course, so you practise the technique as you learn it.

Do I receive a certificate after the training?

Yes. On completing the programme you receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. This is a record of attendance and skills built, not a formal certification, as VSM has no external awarding body.

How is my learning assessed during the course?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you apply what you learn through practical exercises, creating both a current-state and a future-state map for a realistic operational scenario, with trainer feedback throughout the day.

What will I be able to do after the training?

You will be able to select a product family, conduct a Gemba walk, draw a current-state map with standard symbols, identify waste and the bottleneck, design a future-state map, and build an implementation and Kaizen plan to reach it.

Does VSM training lead to a formal credential?

No formal credential or accreditation is awarded, because Value Stream Mapping is a technique rather than a governed scheme. You gain a practical, immediately applicable skill and a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning.

    Course Content

What topics does the VSM training cover?

The programme covers six modules: Lean foundations and the value stream, standard VSM symbols, creating the current-state map, analysing it for waste, designing the future-state map, and implementation planning to sustain improvement.

    How long is the training?

The course runs for one day (8 hours), covering all six modules with concept explanations, symbol training, worked examples and hands-on mapping exercises. An extended half-day format over two days is also possible.

    Are there hands-on exercises?

Yes. Practice runs throughout the day. You create both a current-state and a future-state value stream map for a realistic scenario, so you leave having actually built maps rather than only discussed the theory.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive structured courseware covering the full VSM symbol set, data boxes, the eight wastes of Lean, takt time and the eight future-state questions, along with worked examples and exercise templates to use during and after the session.

Will I learn both current-state and future-state mapping?

Yes. The course covers the full cycle: building an accurate current-state map, analysing it to find waste and the bottleneck, then designing a leaner future state with continuous flow and pull, and planning how to get there.

    Enrollment

How do I enrol in the VSM course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete your booking, and you will receive access to schedules and learning resources. To discuss options first, talk to a learning advisor.

    What training formats are available?

The course is available online (live virtual instructor-led), in a classroom, onsite at your premises, and as customised corporate group training, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule and team.

    How soon can I start?

New public sessions run regularly, and corporate onsite dates can be arranged around your operations. See upcoming schedules or ask an advisor about the next available batch for learners in Morocco.

    Can I reschedule my booking?

Yes. Flexible options let you reschedule or move to another batch where needed. Contact our support team to arrange a change to your enrolment.

What is the refund or cancellation policy?

Refunds and cancellations follow our published policy, and selected plans include a money-back option. Reach out to our team for the details that apply to your booking.
