Assessment

Is there an exam for this course?

No. AWS DevOps training is a non-certification course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on AWS exercises throughout the programme, so you practise each tool and technique as you go rather than sitting a test.

How is my learning assessed?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you apply each concept directly through practical exercises, such as creating a pipeline, deploying a CloudFormation stack and setting up CloudWatch alarms, which build proficiency through practice during the course.

What certificate will I receive?

On completing the programme you receive a Course Completion Certificate from Invensis Learning. This recognises that you have finished the training; it is not a certification exam credential, as this is a practical skills course.

Are there hands-on exercises during the training?

Yes. Hands-on AWS exercises run throughout, using the AWS Console and CLI. You practise building a CI/CD pipeline, writing infrastructure as code, deploying containers to ECS or EKS and configuring monitoring, so the skills are ready to apply at work.

Course Content

What topics does the AWS DevOps course cover?

The course covers DevOps principles and the AWS ecosystem, source control and CI with CodeCommit and CodeBuild, continuous delivery with CodeDeploy and CodePipeline, infrastructure as code with CloudFormation and CDK, containers with ECS and EKS, and monitoring and DevSecOps with CloudWatch.

How long is the training?

The programme runs for one day (8 hours), covering all core AWS DevOps modules with concept explanations and hands-on exercises. It can also be arranged over two half-days totalling the same 8 hours, depending on the schedule you choose.

Does the course cover containers with ECS and EKS?

Yes. You learn to build Docker images, store them in Amazon ECR, and deploy containerised applications to Amazon ECS (including Fargate) and Amazon EKS, and how containers fit into an automated deployment pipeline on AWS.

Will I learn about DevSecOps and monitoring?

Yes. The course covers DevSecOps, applying shift-left security, IAM least privilege and security scanning in the pipeline, along with monitoring and observability using CloudWatch metrics, logs, alarms and dashboards, and measuring delivery with the four DORA metrics.

You receive structured courseware and learning resources covering all AWS DevOps modules, plus guided hands-on exercises and post-training support. Materials focus on practical application of the AWS DevOps toolchain rather than exam preparation.
