What Is Kanban and How Does It Improve FlowUntitledA Visual, Pull-Based System

Kanban training in South Korea equips professionals to visualise work, limit work in progress and pull value through a system only when real downstream demand calls for it. Kanban is a visual, pull-based workflow method that began in the Toyota Production System, where Taiichi Ohno designed it in the 1950s to signal production only when the next process withdrew parts. It was later formalised for knowledge work by David J. Anderson and documented in his 2010 book on evolutionary change. This one-day programme covers both sides of the method: the manufacturing pull system (production and withdrawal kanban, supermarkets, kanban sizing and just-in-time) and the Agile knowledge-work framework (Kanban boards, WIP limits, flow metrics and the cumulative flow diagram). It suits operations and production managers, supply chain professionals, Agile coaches, Scrum Masters, and IT and software delivery managers who manage the flow of work. You will leave able to design a kanban loop, size a supermarket, build a Kanban board, set WIP limits and read flow metrics on the job. Start your Kanban journey with Invensis Learning.

The Real Value of Learning KanbanFor Individuals and Teams

    For Individuals

    For Individuals

Kanban training helps professionals turn a busy, overloaded workflow into a smooth, visible flow of value. You learn to design pull systems in manufacturing and to run Kanban boards in software, IT and service teams, with hands-on exercises throughout the day. Whether you run a production line, a supply chain, an Agile squad or an IT service desk, the method gives you a practical way to make work visible, limit overcommitment and deliver more predictably.

Kanban is a visual, pull-based way of managing work so it flows only in response to real demand. It began in the Toyota Production System and was later shaped for knowledge work by David J. Anderson. Learning it gives you a practical skill you can apply the next day to cut lead times and make work visible.

    General

What is Kanban and why is it worth learning?

Kanban is a visual, pull-based way of managing work so it flows only in response to real demand. It began in the Toyota Production System and was later shaped for knowledge work by David J. Anderson. Learning it gives you a practical skill you can apply the next day to cut lead times and make work visible.

Who should attend this Kanban training?

The training suits production and operations managers, manufacturing and industrial engineers, supply-chain professionals, Agile coaches, Scrum Masters, IT and software delivery managers, and anyone across South Korea who manages the flow of work through a production or service system.

Does the course cover both manufacturing and Agile Kanban?

Yes. It covers manufacturing Kanban from the Toyota Production System, including production and withdrawal kanban, supermarkets, kanban sizing and just-in-time, and Agile knowledge-work Kanban, including boards, WIP limits, flow metrics, the cumulative flow diagram and Scrumban.

Do I need prior Lean or Agile experience?

No. There are no prerequisites. Familiarity with Lean or production operations is helpful for the manufacturing modules, but the course introduces every Kanban concept from first principles, so beginners and experienced practitioners both benefit.

Is Kanban recognised by employers in South Korea?

Yes. Kanban is a widely used method across Korean manufacturing, logistics, IT services and platform firms. As the country scales smart factories and Agile delivery, professionals who can implement pull systems and manage flow are in steady demand.

    Pricing

How much does the Kanban training cost in South Korea?

Fees vary by delivery mode, group size and schedule, so pricing is available on request. Live online, classroom and corporate group options are quoted separately. Contact a learning advisor for a current quote for your preferred format.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led training across all six Kanban modules, hands-on design exercises, structured courseware and learning resources, learner support, and a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. Confirm exact inclusions when you enquire.

Do you offer group or corporate rates?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with schedules and content tailored to your teams, and volume-based pricing for larger groups. Ask about corporate or group pricing for a quote built around your organisation's needs.

Is this a good investment for my team's time?

The programme is a single day and focuses on capability you apply immediately: designing kanban loops, running boards, setting WIP limits and reading flow metrics. That practical, on-the-job value is what makes it worthwhile. Request a quote to plan a session.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, and offer flexible arrangements for corporate bookings. Talk to a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you or your organisation.

    Assessment

Is there an exam for this Kanban course?

No. This is a non-certification training course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on design exercises, case-study examples and team discussion during the one-day programme rather than a formal test.

Do I receive anything on completion?

Yes. On completing the programme you receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. No external credential or accreditation is awarded, as the course is designed to build practical workplace skills.

How is my learning reinforced during the course?

Through practical exercises: a push versus pull activity, kanban quantity calculation, kanban loop design, Kanban board design for a software scenario, WIP-limit setting and cumulative flow diagram interpretation. You apply each concept to realistic scenarios as you go.

What will I be able to do afterwards?

You will be able to explain push versus pull, design a manufacturing supermarket, calculate kanban quantities, build an Agile Kanban board with WIP limits, measure lead time, cycle time and throughput, read a cumulative flow diagram, and plan a Kanban rollout.

Is the course based on a recognised standard?

Yes. It is grounded in established Kanban practice: manufacturing Kanban from the Toyota Production System developed by Taiichi Ohno, and knowledge-work Kanban as formalised by David J. Anderson. There is no single governing body, as Kanban is an open method rather than a proprietary credential.

    Course Content

What topics does the Kanban training cover?

Six modules: Kanban origins and pull production; manufacturing Kanban types and mechanics; kanban sizing and implementation; knowledge-work boards and WIP limits; flow metrics and the cumulative flow diagram; and implementing and sustaining Kanban across manufacturing and service settings.

    How long is the programme?

It runs as a single day of eight hours, or as two half-day sessions of four hours each. Both formats cover all six modules with concept explanations, real-world examples and hands-on Kanban design exercises throughout.

Does it cover WIP limits and flow metrics in depth?

Yes. You learn why WIP limits improve flow and how to set them, and you work with lead time, cycle time, throughput, Little's Law and the cumulative flow diagram so you can measure and improve flow using evidence rather than opinion.

Will I learn to design Kanban boards and kanban loops?

Yes. You practise designing manufacturing kanban loops and supermarkets and building Agile Kanban boards with columns, swimlanes, classes of service and a Definition of Done, using tools such as Jira, Trello and Azure DevOps as examples.

    Is Scrumban included?

Yes. The final module covers Scrumban, which blends Kanban WIP limits and flow with the Scrum cadence, along with how Kanban fits within scaled Agile settings and how to sustain the system over time.
