What is the format of the PRINCE2 Foundation exam?

The Foundation exam has 60 multiple-choice questions to complete in 60 minutes. It is closed book, and the pass mark is 60%, meaning 36 correct out of 60. It tests your knowledge and comprehension of the PRINCE2 method.

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam has 56 questions and sub-questions worth 70 marks, with 150 minutes allowed. It is open book, so the PRINCE2 manual is permitted, and it is scenario based. The pass mark is 60%, meaning 42 out of 70 marks.

What are the passing scores for both exams?

Both exams require 60% to pass. For Foundation that is 36 out of 60 questions correct, and for Practitioner that is 42 out of 70 marks. Both are based on the PRINCE2 7 syllabus published by PeopleCert and AXELOS.

What if I do not pass an exam the first time?

You can resit the exam through PeopleCert, and our trainers help you target weak areas before you retake. Selected plans include added revision and retake support to build your confidence. Confirm the current resit policy at peoplecert.org.

Where can I take the PRINCE2 exams?

You can sit both exams online through PeopleCert's OnVUE proctoring, available 24 hours a day, or at a PeopleCert authorised test centre. Most candidates arrange the exams through their accredited training package.

Do I need Foundation before taking the Practitioner exam?

Yes. PRINCE2 Practitioner requires PRINCE2 Foundation, or an accepted equivalent such as PMP, CAPM or IPMA Level A to D. In this combined programme you sit Foundation first, then progress to Practitioner.

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full mock exams and scenario exercises mapped to the PRINCE2 7 syllabus. These help you identify weak areas and rehearse the open-book technique the Practitioner exam requires.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest PRINCE2 syllabus?
