Is the PgMP recognised in Japan?

Yes. The PgMP is a globally recognised PMI credential valued by employers across Japan and worldwide, including the automotive, electronics, IT services and consulting organisations around Yokohama and Kanagawa that run large, strategy-critical programmes.

Is the PgMP worth it for my career?

For experienced managers, yes. The PgMP validates programme leadership and positions you for roles such as Programme Manager, Head of PMO and Programme Director, which command strong salary bands in the Tokyo-Yokohama market. As demand for certified programme leaders rises, it is a clear differentiator.

How long is the PgMP valid and how do I renew it?

The PgMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle, with a minimum of 8 PDUs in each area, within each three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle.

    Pricing

What is included in the PgMP course fee?

    Exam

What is the format of the PgMP exam?

The PgMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and the Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition. It is delivered via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 170 questions and an allotted time of four hours. Results are reported with domain-level feedback (Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement) rather than a fixed percentage score.

What are the PgMP exam domains and their weights?

The exam covers five performance domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%). Together they make up the full 170-question exam.

What is the PgMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PgMP. A panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented experience and competency. It is mandatory in addition to the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential.

What if I do not pass the exam the first time?

PMI permits up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility period from application approval. Reexamination fees apply to later attempts. Our mock exams, domain-wise practice and trainer guidance are designed to build your readiness before exam day.

    Course Content

What topics does the PgMP training cover?

The training covers the five PgMP performance domains: Strategic Program Management, Program Life Cycle Management, Benefits Management, Stakeholder Engagement and Governance, plus application, panel-review and exam strategy aligned to the current PgMP Examination Content Outline.

Do I need prior experience to take this course?

Anyone can attend the training, but the PgMP credential is a senior one. To sit the exam, PMI requires substantial project and programme management experience under one of three eligibility sets. Our trainers help you assess your experience and document it for the application.

What standard is the courseware aligned to?

The courseware is aligned to PMI's Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition, and the current PgMP Examination Content Outline. This keeps your preparation consistent with the five performance domains PMI tests in the exam.

    What learning resources are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, references to the PgMP Examination Content Outline and Handbook, a Standard for Program Management overview, practice questions, mock exams, and domain-wise quizzes to support revision and exam readiness.

Will I receive a certificate of completion?

Yes. After meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate along with the contact hours earned through the programme, which also count toward your PgMP preparation.

    Enrollment

What are the eligibility requirements for the PgMP exam?

PMI offers three sets. With a secondary diploma: 48 months of project management experience (or an active PMP) plus 84 months of programme experience. With a four-year degree: 48 months plus 48 months. A GAC-accredited degree reduces both thresholds to 36 months. All experience must fall within the past 15 years.

How do I enrol in the PgMP course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. A learning advisor can guide you on eligibility and timing.

    What training formats are available?
