    What is the format of the CSM exam?

    The CSM exam is an online, open-book, multiple-choice test taken through the Scrum Alliance member portal after you complete an approved course. It is based on the Scrum Alliance CSM Learning Objectives, which are aligned to the current Scrum Guide (November 2020).

    How many questions are on the CSM exam and how long is it?

    The CSM exam has 50 multiple-choice questions and a time limit of 60 minutes. It is open book and taken online without a proctor through the Scrum Alliance portal.

    What is the passing score for the CSM exam?

    You must score 74 percent to pass, which means answering at least 37 of the 50 questions correctly. Focus on broad understanding across Scrum theory, values, the team, events, artifacts and the Scrum Master role.

    What if I do not pass the CSM exam the first time?

    You typically have up to three attempts to pass within 90 days of completing your course, so a first miss is recoverable. Our trainer guidance and practice questions are designed to help you pass on the first attempt.

    How do I access the CSM exam after the course?
