    What is the format of the PgMP exam?

    The PgMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition. It uses scenario and situational questions across the five performance domains.

    How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

    The exam has 170 questions and an allotted time of four hours. In addition to the written exam, all candidates must pass a multi-rater panel review that assesses their documented programme management experience.

    What are the PgMP exam domains and their weights?

    There are five performance domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%).

    What is the passing score for the PgMP exam?

    PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. Results are determined through psychometric analysis and reported with domain-level feedback, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains rather than a single target number.

    What if I do not pass the exam, can I retake it?

    Yes. You are allowed up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility period from application approval. Reexamination fees apply to later attempts. Our prep resources and trainer support are designed to help you pass with confidence.

    PMI offers three sets. With a secondary diploma: 48 months of project management experience or an active PMP, plus 84 months of programme management experience. With a bachelor's degree: 48 months of PM experience or PMP, plus 48 months of programme experience, all within the past 15 years.
