    Which standard is the CSM based on?

    The CSM is aligned to the current Scrum Guide, the November 2020 edition by Ken Schwaber and Jeff Sutherland, and the Scrum Alliance CSM Learning Objectives. The course and exam are governed by Scrum Alliance, the credential body for the Certified ScrumMaster.

    Is the CSM recognised internationally?

    Yes. The Certified ScrumMaster is the world's most widely recognised Scrum Master credential, with over one million certificates issued. Scrum Alliance operates globally across every industry, so your CSM travels with you across sectors and countries.

    How long is the CSM certification valid?

    The CSM is valid for two years. To renew, you earn 16 Scrum Education Units (SEUs) and pay the Scrum Alliance membership renewal fee within each two-year cycle. SEUs can be earned through courses, conferences, coaching and self-study.

    How much does CSM training cost in Jamaica?

    CSM training fees vary by format and are available on request. The Scrum Alliance online exam fee is normally included in the course fee, and passing includes a two-year Scrum Alliance membership. Request a quote for current pricing in your preferred format.

    What is included in the CSM course fee?

    The fee typically includes Scrum Alliance aligned courseware, instruction from a Certified Scrum Trainer, practice questions, learner support and the online CSM exam. Passing the exam also includes a two-year Scrum Alliance membership and digital badge.

    Is the CSM exam fee included in the training?

    In most cases, yes. The Scrum Alliance CSM exam fee is usually bundled into the course fee you pay the training provider, and you access the exam through your Scrum Alliance member portal after completing the course. Confirm inclusions when you request a quote.

    What if I do not pass the CSM exam first time?

    You have up to three attempts to pass the CSM exam within 90 days of completing the course, at no extra cost. With a 74% pass mark and our practice questions and trainer guidance, most learners are well prepared. Verify the current attempt policy at scrumalliance.org.

    What is the format of the CSM exam?

    The CSM exam has 50 multiple-choice questions to be answered in 60 minutes. It is open book and taken online through the Scrum Alliance member portal after you complete an approved course, with no proctor required.

    What is the passing score for the CSM exam?

    The passing score is 74%, which means answering at least 37 of the 50 questions correctly. The course prepares you across all six CSM topic areas so you can pass with confidence.

    How and when do I take the CSM exam?

    You take the CSM exam online through your Scrum Alliance member portal, within 90 days of completing an approved course. The exam is open book and needs no test centre or proctor, so you can sit it when you are ready.

    Do I need to attend a course to sit the CSM exam?

    Yes. Scrum Alliance requires attendance at an approved CSM course delivered by a Certified Scrum Trainer before the exam is unlocked. Self-study alone does not qualify, which is why the training and exam go together.

    Course Content

    Do I need prior experience to take the CSM course?

    No. The CSM has no formal education or work-experience prerequisite, so it suits those new to Scrum as well as team members formalising existing knowledge. The course builds your understanding from the ground up.

    What topics does the CSM course cover?

    The course covers six areas from the Scrum Alliance CSM Learning Objectives: Scrum theory and principles, the Scrum values, the Scrum Team, the Scrum events, the Scrum artifacts and the Scrum Master role, all aligned to the current Scrum Guide.

    Which Scrum Guide edition does the course follow?

    The course follows the current Scrum Guide, the November 2020 edition, which introduced the Product Goal, the Sprint Goal as the commitment of the Sprint Backlog, and the Definition of Done as the commitment of the Increment.

    Are practice questions and materials provided?

    Yes. You receive Scrum Alliance aligned courseware, case studies and practice questions mapped to the 50-question, open-book exam format, plus trainer-led exercises to reinforce each topic area.

    How long is the CSM training?

    The CSM training runs for 16 hours, delivered as two full days or four half-days depending on the schedule. This exceeds the Scrum Alliance minimum contact-hours requirement and prepares you fully for the online exam.

    How soon can I start and how do I enrol?

    What training formats are available?
